PC gaming is back on the high-street!

4th December, 2015 – GAME, the UK’s leading video games retailer, and Overclockers UK, the UK’s leading PC gaming hardware specialist, have joined together in a partnership that sees an extensive range of exclusive gaming PCs, components and accessories available in selected GAME stores* and online at GAME.co.uk/pcgaming, from Friday 4th December.

Customers will also be able to benefit from GAME’s range of specialist services to make PC gaming more accessible – they can trade in old products towards PC hardware, spread the cost with GAME Finance and earn 2% back on every purchase with the GAME Reward scheme.

Over the next few weeks the partnership will increase further with the integration of GAME Wallet into Overclockers UK’s website (www.overclockers.co.uk), enabling gamers to spend their GAME Reward points and top-up and trade-in credit directly with Overclockers.  In 2016, Overclockers UK will also launch GAME’s PC digital content range for sale on the Overclockers UK website making it easier than ever for gamers to access the retailer’s range of over 3,000 digital PC products.

GAME’s Basingstoke and Trafford Centre (Manchester) stores will be the first two stores to introduce interactive Overclockers displays, with more stores set to follow over the coming weeks. Customers will be able to experience the latest PC gaming technology in store as well as receive technical advice and support from in store experts.

Charlotte Knight, GAME Retail’s UK Managing Director, said: “As the UK’s leading gaming specialist we are constantly working to enhance our offer in every area of gaming, making gaming more accessible to the widest community possible. This exciting new partnership with Overclockers epitomises our dedication to this, and particularly within the PC gaming category. Overclockers UK’s reputation for high performance PC hardware proceeds them – their fantastic in store and online offering through GAME will immediately enhance our offer for PC gamers, giving them access to a huge range of specialist PC products with the added benefits that shopping through GAME brings.

Steve Ling, Overclockers UK’s Executive Director, said: “The combination of Overclockers UK’s expertise and the retail estate of GAME is the ultimate way to introduce and demonstrate gaming hardware to a wider audience. By working with GAME we can give customers somewhere to experience PC gaming on the high street outside of our Newcastle-Under-Lyme store. We’re also excited to expand our product range to give customers digital content through the Overclockers UK website. We also have future plans on giving customers the option to purchase using GAME Wallet”.

Miodrag Relic, Caseking’s Business Development Director, said: “Caseking Group through Overclockers UK are excited to be in a long term partnership with GAME. Starting with presence on the high street, we are looking to combine the strength of Caseking and GAME to gain a larger share of the PC gaming market, even beyond UK shores. There are more exciting things to come”.

    No upgraded stores in Maidstone?

CMIIW there is not even a store near London. I recommend you employ a store drop off policy such that stock doesn't need to be available to be bought in store in 1 or 2 days.

    Great stuff!!!

This is awesome. Been a long time customer of both Overclockers and Game UK. Felt quite upset when Game almost went bankrupt and glad they have downsized and came back up, reopened shops, offered new services and it is great they are thinking about PC Gaming again (which is on the rise!).

Great step forward for Overclockers. This should give them headway into digital software distribution and more physical shops can show off their hardware.

Please do not forget about London (Kingston), it would be great to see Overclockers stand in Game shop there.

    Forwards and upwards!

    This is good news!

Great news, I hope it proves successful so you can get something going near Brighton/Worthing Portsmouth is just a little bit out my way unfortunately. I am happy that your expanding your reach with physical products plus hopefully you may convert a few console gamers whilst your at it!

    Good luck.

    Pricing to match the website?

Sounds great, especially as I work in Basingstoke, so can easily pay a vist!

Will the prices in Game stores be the same as on your website, or will there be a markup?

    Great news but...

Great news! But make sure it's gaming rigs bring sold, ie don't put an i7 in until it's got at least a 980 or 390x and no need for 16gb of ram either.

Finally console gamers have a shrine to the master PC race!

Great idea, would get more commercial awareness of the brand and the products on offer.
When customers can see a full build (or even buy it) that would introduce people to PC gaming, and by putting stock into stores customers who do not do their purchasing online can source items from Game stores.
Hope it all goes well and the reception is positive.

    Great news

A potentially great move for both OcUK and Game, I'm excited to see how this progresses. But for the love of donkey can we please have some kind of presence in the South East? There's nothing here... So ronery.
