Rocket Arena: Specifications, Trailer and the best PC's to play
What’s Rocket Arena about?
Rocket Arena is a brand new game from Final strike games and EA originals. This online shooter is a 3V3 arena game where the only choice of weapons are rockets. There are several different heroes to choose between and you must use your projectiles to blast players around and out of the Arena.
Every Hero you choose has unique rockets and abilities that require time to learn and skill to master. There is a focus on strategy and with an expanding roster of diverse heroes with distinctive powers; it’s essential to work with your teammates to be successful. You must plan tactics based on your squad and be strategic with your battle plan. There are a wide variety of dynamic maps to explore all while aiming to master the unique rocket gameplay.
What is the gameplay like in Rocket Arena?
The game takes place in the world of Crater which has a wide variety of diverse regions and everything is centred around rockets. Each area has its own Hero and rich history with mysterious rockets and exploded landscapes with hidden lost worlds for you to discover.
Each Hero has a unique rocket launcher, rocket projectile, and abilities unique to their play style. There are ten characters to choose from at launch and any additional characters added post-launch will be free to all players. Every Match played can be changed with the deployment of gameplay items that can increase speed, defend you from danger or trip up and damage opponents. Another way to customise your play style is by using Artifacts which can be discovered and unlocked while gaming. Any Artifact may be equipped and used by any hero and they have special abilities such as damage reduction, increased dodge distance and dodge cooldown reduction. Other important mechanics of the game include rockets, not damaging teammates, rocket travel time, dodge cooldowns, air jumps and avoiding damage to prevent mega blasts knocking you out.
Rocket Arena was created with a goal of “Never say Die” combat, and it’s a new approach to conflict in a multiplayer shooter. Several different innovative features make it stand out, such as Non-lethal rockets that blast players instead of killing them. The blast meter replaces a health bar and determines how far a player will fly. There is carefully tuned Rocket Jumping and Rocket Climbing that teams with the knockout and Megablast mechanic to knock out other players.
No deaths mean no respawns and players can quickly fly back into the Arena. It’s a more family-friendly approach to combat that allows players to dive right back in, survey the scene, and return to the fight and is sure to provide some unique gameplay.
What game modes are there?
At launch, Rocket Arena features the following game modes and some are interesting twists on games we all know and love:
- Knockout - You make use of rockets, abilities, and items to push your opponents out of the arena. Teams score “Knockouts’ by forcing opponents out of the arena. In order for your team to win, you must reach the score target first.
- Rocketball - Two teams compete to pick up the Rocketball and score it into the opposing team’s goal. You may score by running, throwing, or blasting the Rocketball into the opposing team’s goal. Like rocket league without the cars.
- Mega Rocket - You must defend and capture the Mega Rocket zone in order to score points.
- Treasure Hunt – Pick up the chest and hold onto it to accumulate points. You can also score points by collecting coins strewn around the map.
- Rocket Bot Attack [PVE] – Work with your squad to survive waves of attacks from RocketBots. Knockout enough Rocketbots to win the match.
There will also be a tutorial and practise mode to hone your skills and learn different heroes. Custom games allow you to experiment with your own playstyle and of course the social playlist to join with friends and meet new people.
