The arrival of AMD's Ryzen 3000- series also signals the long awaited release of the "Zen 2" architecture based on the new and advanced 7 Nm FinFET lithiography, as well as the release of their accompanying Socket AMD4-based AMD X570 chipsets. AMD's Matisse series of processors also support, when paired with such a chipset, the new and improved PCI Express 4.0 standard. AMD's Ryzen 3000-based Picasso series of APUs have also now dropped, with their Zen+ architecture taking Vega's integrated graphics up yet another notch.

The AMD Radeon RX 5700-series is based on the new Navi chip using new RDNA GPU architecture and advanced 7nm FinFET lithography. The biggest development of the AMD Radeon RX 5700 and AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT lies in support for PCI Express 4.0, H.265 / HEVC encoding/decoding as well as support for newer technologies like Radeon VR Ready Premium. The whole package promises a significant leap in performance to make for a great 1440p gaming experience. Gamers will appreciate updates to AMD's Boost technology as well as the addition of 8 GB of GDDR6-VRAM at 7.000 MHz with a 256-Bit memory interface.
First PCI Express 4.0 graphics card & H.265 / HEVC encoding!
At CES 2019 in Las Vegas, AMD's CEO Lisa Sung introduced - among other developments - a short tech demo of a Ryzen 3000- processor. The processors includes 8 cores and 16 threads, achieving a remarkable CineBench score of 2057 points and coming out ahead of even their own previous top releases such as the Ryzen 7 2700X by approximately 15 percent. The optimised CPU architecture courtesy of the chiplet design aside, we also see a significant performance increase thanks to the 7 nm process when compared to the chip's immediate predecessors.

The last few days have seen an upsurge in rumours regarding AMD’s new graphics cards. At CES 2019 in January, the Texas-based chipmaker is rumoured to be presenting the Radeon RX 3080 based on the new Navi GPU architecture. The RX 3080 and many more gaming graphics cards from AMD look to be on the way, all of which seem to be based on the new 7 nm node. The combination of new architecture and a refreshed node is likely to be a game changer when it comes to gaming performance – and all at a remarkably low TDP.

AMD introduced the Radeon Vega VII at CES 2019 in Las Vegas! CEO Lisa Su presented a fascinating talk concerning the first 7 nm gaming graphics card. The Vega 20 GPU-based graphics card is rumoured to boost up to 1.800 MHz and come with 16 GB HBM2-VRAM. The Radeon Vega VII could arrive in February and offer, according to AMD, in up to 42 percent more FPS in games than the Vega 64. The Radeon Vega VII could arrive before the end of February!

CES will be taking place between 8.01. and 12.01.2019 in Las Vegas. CES is one of the largest exhibitions for electronics companies in the world of PC hardware outside of Computex in Taipei. The Texan chip manufacturer AMD will - if rumours are true - use the show to demonstrate their brand new 7 nm graphics cards and processor series: Ryzen 3000 and Radeon RX 3000.
Rumour mill: New AMD GPUs and CPUs at CES 2019?
