Designed as a direct response to those in need of a powerful machine with a minimal footprint, the Dan Case A4-SFX v1 – created by Daniel Hansen, is a lightweight chassis with physical dimensions comparable to a shoe box.
Making efficient use of the internal layout with hardware mounting options on a vertical basis, the A4-SFX v1 allows for the installation of standard size hardware – doing away with custom components as well as performance compromises. Crafted from brushed aluminium with ventilated panels – manufactured by Lian LI, the A4-SFX v1 utilises Mini-ITX motherboards, SFX power supplies and a full-length, dual-slot graphics card. This gives way for a potential Monster gaming PC, disguised on one's desk much akin to NAS.
By mounting internal components vertically with the SFX power supply located at the front of the chassis, there's room for X3 2.5" storage drives, low-profile CPU coolers as a must due to the slim-profile, and a PCIe extender built on patented Twin Axial technology – manufactured by 3M, included with the chassis. With just a single USB 3.0 port located to the front of the chassis, accompanied by a power button for a clean, neat finish, the 4-SFX v1 defines the high-end appeal, certainly striking with its anodized finish.
Enthusiasts spend hours picking parts, but too many people give too little thought to another vital component: their case.
That’s a shame, because cases are important: a good case can make a system easier to build, offer more room for extra components and make your PC run with better temperatures and less noise. And let’s not forget the aesthetics, either – a good case can make your rig look stunning.
We’ve got a huge range of the best computer cases at Overclockers UK – here are some of our favourites.
Crafted from a black, hair-silk plate of aluminium the Raijintek PAEAN takes traits from most recent cases and marries the tempered glass trend an open-bench format. Supporting up to x3 3.5" drives along with x3 2.5" inch drives, the PAEAN chassis utilises a dual-chamber layout to divide the power supply and storage compartments to a single area - opening up the oppossing side for test-bed purposes. Not only does this create a unique and tidy layout, it's also rather distinctive, making it appealing to gamers, modders and PC enthusiasts, along with an audience not so familiar - those pertaining to art and design.
This unique quality that the PAEAN delivers not only looks attractive in use, but also when it's out of use, reminiscent of futuristic sculpture. Providing support for standard ATX, M-ATX and M-ITX motherboards, along with graphics cards up to 400mm in length - extending multi-GPU support by the means of x8 PCI slots. The wide range of hardware configurations and physical sizing the the PAEAN delivers never compromises on looks, aligning watercooling support to a vertical format flat against the centre aluminium tray.

Where the 805i differs from its competition in regards to its tempered glass fitting resides in its layout and the replacement of a standard front panel.
