Great piece of kit

I got one of these because the stock cooler was audible once the PC went under load.
This cooler is big (I thought they'd vastly over-packaged it when it arrived, but no.. it really was that big), but it still fits on my mATX board (Asus Z97 Gryphon). Makes the stock cooler look pretty dinky tbh!

The noctua site has a really good compatibility table for a lot of mobos, so it takes away the 'but will it fit?' question. The product packaging and install instructions didn't mention socket 1150 but a quick email to Noctua and they confirmed it would be OK to follow the install as per the 1156 instructions.

On full load (Using the Prime 95 torture test for the intel i7-4790K) the max temp dropped by a full 26 degrees C. Also, even on maximum load the (huge) CPU fan runs at under 1000 rpm and is barely audible (and certainly not annoying like the intel cooler fan, which ran at appx 2200 rpm under the same conditions).

Excellent product

Got this to fit 3770k and asus z77 mini itx. It fits perfectly but will interfere with the exhaust fan if you're using a Prodigy. I got round this by using a scythe slimline fan for exhaust. 40degrees C on 100% load.
