This kit is a life saver.

For some reason my Zotac 1080 Artic Storm water cooling developed major corrosion after few years of use and some of the water block aluminium around GPU block starter to deteriorate. Still not sure what would cause this?
Anyway, as the PCB was working just fine and as caught corruption in time before anything leaked so what to do.
Found this package on OC and decided to give this a go and I am pretty impressed with this. As the Artic Storm seem to use 1080 amp! edition PCB so fitting this was pretty straight forward, needed to add some extra heat shields for mosfet and ram to keep these coolers as the original block was full cover one.
- Pretty straight forward just following the instructions
- Adding the cooler block can be bit fiddly but not too bad
Some details
- The GPU now idles around 27 C
- GPU stress tests (Heaven) the temperature hits around 45 C
- Extended gaming sessions the GPU may spike up to 47 C. May need to mod case exhaust bit more to see if this would improve.
- NZXT included fan keeps the mosfet cool to touch even under load
- PC runs relatively quiet, although needed to add side fan to push some fresh air to the GPU board to ensure that ram get some cool air as the G12 fan pushes air directly to mosfet area and now the ram is located under water block.
- The fan included with the package seems to run fine and is not too noisy either
Few notes
- Insure that your case has enough space for this Asetek 120mm 570LC as the block is “double size”.
- Check 570LC pipe length and that this is long enough for your case, was lucky that this worked on mine (just)
- When shaking the 570LC this makes “sloshing” sound as it seems that there is some air in the loop. Also, initially the pump made some “gurgling” noise but this settled down after a while and cooling seem just fine. Not sure if the air space is by design to allow the coolant to expand? So, following this. Unless someone has some comments and if I should RMA the 570LC?
What would make this bundle even better would be to include “VGA fan adapter ” to allow fan control directly from GPU PCB.
Over all very happy with this purchase as per now, only been running few days so time will tell.
