Average

Average power supply unit, does what it says. Is very quiet and operates lovely.

After 3 years however the output has decreased over time, my system failing to boot repeatedly, and now at 3 1/2 years, my computer is almost unable to boot. Its a great PSU but i wish it didnt have to degrade so fast.

I am happy though, in fact i am about to buy a replacement, and im just going to go with the same PSU.

Review to Death

Bought 3 1/2 years ago, been used in several builds and stable in the current overclocked Phenom II with a an ATI 4870. No hassle, good quality design.

It'd started making an arcing noise, and then it failed to boot (diagnostic lights on the graphics card saying the PCI-E rail wasn't supplying the juice. Swapped over with another OCZ SXS600 and it worked fine, though it's making a slightly different fan like arcing noise (it's older than mine and used in a system that no longer separately powers the GPU. So normal death, now it's time to pick up the next generation version - at the same voltage rating.

Pritty good for money

I have owned this now coming onto 2 years. It's worked fine powering a i5 and twin graphics card rig (2d use tripple monitors), pior was a Core 2.

I checked voltages in speedfan and they appear pritty stable.

Only small downside is the fan, it started making a small noise, but i put my case into desktop mode and noise was fixed. Also it spins a little to fast, and it's giving the most noise from the system. It's still pritty quite mind.

Other small downsides, these units don't have a MOV, all the internals are good however, JonnyGuru load tested these to 730watt before they gave in. As mentioned only 3 SATA power connectors.

Still not a bad PSU for the money, touch wood it stays good a while longer.

Great unit overall, but beware of fan no

Bought the supply a while ago, and it's works great! :)

But recently changed my casing to a Antec 902, which has the power supply reverse mounted at the bottom of the case (with fan facing upwards). The fan seems to be contacting the the frame when mounted this way, causing a clicking sound! Flipping the whole unit around again, it is silent as ever.

I don't know whether it's just my unit or not. I had to do some DIY using wires to minimise the sound! Hopefully this gets fixed in future iterations! Otherwise it's a good PSU! :)

A minor problem

Firstly excellent delivery from OC's arrived next day within the estimated delivery time slot.

I bought the power supply to upgrade the 425w in my dell XPS 420 due to upgrading my 8800gtx to a xfx 5850 xxx. I know dell have wierd PSU's due to the BTX case and motherboard but the PSU fit in nicely and the screws matched up (however it does leave a 1/4 inch gap at the back of the case due to the PSU not being as deep.

The main problem i had ,was the PSU only having 3 SATA connections all on the same rail and due to my strange case layout of my Dell (both harddrives right at the bottom of the case) the sata connections wouldnt connect to both my harddrives and then my blu ray drive. A simple molex to sata adapter does the trick which are only a few quid.
All the cables are a good length (apart from the sata one) and all fitted into the various slots nicely and are covered in a black mesh. It runs quite but to be honest its not much different noise wise to the dell one it replaced

this psu

got one of these powering a phenom II 955 a radeon 4850 and 4 gig of ddr3.

it powers the above prety well and is very quiet at doing it.

i notice that my power lead keeps slipping out though every few weeks which is strange since my pc doesnt move. for that reason ill give this product a 4.

my old fsp 500 watt never had a powerlead getting lose over time.

Excellent PSU

I bought this PSU as I was uprading my GPU and am over the moon with it - it's almost identical to the Zalman ZM600-HP which costs around 50 quid more!

Who cares about the noise? For the price it's an absolute steal - especially with 72 amps across the rails.

Solid PSU

Great power supply and i would recomend to any one who wants solid build power supply, also runs rather quiet considering the size of the fans. Also has 2 of the to PCI-E power connectors, so if you have a big graphics card? Recommend
