terrible drives

i bought 2 of these expecting a noticeable improvemnt but all i noticed was these things running so slow. lower data transfer than my old raid 0 on WD ks's.
have sold them on ebay now after poor support from patriot. Avoid these drive. they are cheaper than the others for a reason

Works great with the latest firmware

I read all the reviews about this drive and the issues that people ahve been having.

So I kept an eye on it and noticed recently Patriot released a new firmware update for the drive and it has fixed all the issues.

So I went ahead an brought one of these the other day. Followed the update instructions on their site and updated to the latest firmware.

I then cloned my OS HDD to this, that too kabotu 15 mins, setup my pc to boto from this drive and bam the difference compared to my old drive was amazing.

Its still early days but everything apepars to be a lot faster than it used to no delays in opening apps even outlook is just about instant to open.

Fro the price this is now well worth it with the latest firmware.

Bought this as a boot drive for a new i7 machine I built, terrible read and write speeds, my two year old 500GB WD out-performs this by a large margin. Stay away, get a Samsung, they're the best value/performance SSDs I've seen.

a few issues

I've got 3 of these and they are very fast in RAID 0, I've had no system lag or prolonged boot times... however I have had to send 2 back as they had bad sectors. Since then 2 of them have now got snapped sata connectors, I've never managed to snap a sata connector before so I think there is a flaw or cheap plastic on these. In RAID 0 I get just over 500MB/S

Lots of problems

I have 2 of these drives and there is lots of problems with the write speed (worse than a normal hard drive). Also the machines lock up for 30 seconds or so every few minutes. Just take a look at there own forums for all the firmware problems.

Good start to the SSD world

Got this as a cheap upgrade for my system. Fast delivery as always from OCuK.
Popped it in my system, and it shows 28GB. Installed Win 7 in minutes. Once Win 7 is install and Bad Company 2 theres only 5GB left. Installing programs is Uber fast, almost fun :D Games load significantly faster and gameplay is more fluid. One thing though, I do get random freezes of the OS with this Drive (Didnt get it before with my WD 500GB) Win 7 is so much more responsive now, it's great. Startup times knock about 10 seconds off my old HDD; shutdown is even faster. Not the best drive to buy if you play lots of games. This drive is perfect for 1 large game or a few small ones. Allround a good entry drive to the SSD world.
