Overclockable PC Systems at Overclockers UK

No matter if you are a die-hard gamer, a graphic designer, or you simply want to get the most out of your system, overclocking will greatly improve the performance of your PC. Overclocking is the process of pushing a computer component beyond the default factory speed. This typically refers to the CPU, although in some cases the GPU or even RAM may also be overclocked. An overclocked PC can therefore reach much higher levels of performance than it would otherwise be able to achieve. Whilst overclocking does increase heat emissions and is demanding on your power supply, the practice is now safer and more established than it has been in the past, and when done properly, it yields significant, stable speed gains.

How is a PC overclocked?

The speed of a CPU is determined largely by its internal clock speed, measured in GHz, which is set at a certain level by the manufacturer, according to each model. The internal clock speed is derived from the CPU’s base clock rate (BCLK), the benchmark timekeeper of a PC, which is multiplied by a certain number, known as the CPU multiplier. The resulting internal clock speed determines how many operations the processor can complete per second. However, because of variation in production, the factory standard speed is set to the lowest common-speed denominator, to ensure a larger percentage of stable products. This means that individual units are highly likely to be capable of running much faster, a fact that overclocking exploits. An overclocked computer, then, is one where either the base clock rate, CPU multiplier, or even voltage has been manually altered in order to reach the processor’s full potential, without overheating and damaging components.

What are the Benefits of an Overclockable PC?

The benefits of an overclockable system fall broadly into two related categories: processing speed and value for money. Graphics applications, such as image and video rendering, and gaming are particularly resource intensive, demanding high-levels of activity from the processor. An overclocked PC is much better placed to meet these demands because it’s able to process more tasks per second. Because of this, you receive more value for money in terms of performance; the need to invest in more expensive hardware is reduced simply by optimising the potential of your existing components.

Overclocked PCs from Overclockers UK

To ensure you get the very best possible performance from your hardware, at Overclockers UK we offer a comprehensive range of customisable and overclockable gaming PCs, ready for optimisation. In addition, we boast a variety of overclocked base systems, which exploit the unparalleled expertise and experience of Ian ‘8Pack’ Parry, our record-breaking overclocking guru, and our in-house R&D team. This potent combination results in our collection of Prestige PCs, featuring 8Pack’s Inifin8 range and Overclockers’ own OcUK Tech Labs builds, which are extremely powerful overclocked gaming PCs, optimised to perform at their peak.

When you buy a PC overclocked by our experts, you have the assurance that not only will your new computer be blisteringly fast, it will also be stable. Each overclocked PC is precisely optimised to strike the vital balance between speed gains, system stability, and preserving the condition of components. What’s more, every system undergoes a rigorous testing procedure to ensure your new powerhouse is in top condition.

Configure Your Own Overclockable System

If you prefer to custom build a PC with an overclockable CPU so you can perform your own tweaks, Overclockers UK has you covered too. You’ll find a selection of overclockable processors from the best manufacturers, such as Intel and AMD, as well as high-level GPUs, SSD storage, and power supplies. Crucially for overclocking, our hi-tech water cooling equipment will ensure stability by preventing your system from overheating. Therefore, your overclocked PC will run harder and faster than ever before, while simultaneously prolonging its lifespan.
