Simply outstanding value for money!

My now ageing and trusty Plantronics 380 headset was in need of replacing and I was after something that was good but would not break the bank.

It is safe to say that the 788 is an outstanding piece of kit, the audio is great especially for the price and the mic is crystal clear. For the price range these are frankly hard to beat, due to the design they are very sturdy unlike other manufacturers which just use lousy plastic which breaks easily but these have metal supports as can be seem in the image and it makes a huge difference.

Something to note though if you install the drivers that are recommended, I kept getting a pop up for a file that was trying to run at system start up which was the drivers but due to the tick box asking for a prompt every time that was why I was getting it. I unticked the box and it went away.

The initial fit over my head is/was very tight to say the least (my 380 headset was the same) but I expect that to ease over time with usage so just bear it in mind that it can be a little uncomfortable to begin with just try to bear with it if you can. The cable is also a little on the short side but since it is USB you can simply buy an extension for very little which would easily solve that minor niggle (and I mean just a niggle).

The 7.1 surround sound is surprisingly good and could clearly hear the difference between the various modes so another thumbs up there. This headset is also LOUD to say the least, I have had to reduce my settings in numerous applications due to being almost deafened but it just goes to show how good these really are and how worn out my old 380 is (my headsets are battered daily).

Overall it's a great product just as I have come to expect from Plantronics and would heartily recommend them to anybody.

You won't find better for under 50 quid.

Bought these headphones the other week, i'm literally blown away by these and the fact they cost less than 50 quid. I've owned a lot of headphones in my time even ones that cost triple the price these did and none of them come close to the sound quality these produce, it's actually insane. you can crank them up as loud as you like and there is zero distortion.

The mic is also very good.. my friends noticed that i had a new mic straight away and said it was much better than my last one, which to be fair was only a cheap 15 quid one but still. they always used to complain at very slight feedback in my old mic, but in this they don't even know i'm in the call/chat until i speak.

Downsides?
well... there loud, if you have people in the same room as you whilst you have these cranked up, you're going to get moaned at lol.
if you have slightly larger than average ears, i reckon you'll get an ear ache after a while of wearing them because the ear cups aren't the biggest and the headphones are quite tight fitting. (although i like the tight fitment)
And one thing that annoys me with all overhead headhones not just these ones, is the fact it leaves a dent/flat spot in your hair haha, not sure if anyone else gets this but you can't go out after wearing them for a while unless you plan on washing ya hair coz once the flatspot is there i can't get rid of it!

Besides this, i honestly don't think you can get better for
