Megahalems Rev C CPU Cooler
The tower type coolers have been the mainstream in the CPU cooling market for quite some time now, but upon closer inspection you start to notice that designs and engineering can only go so far as they are slowly come to a bottleneck. After a while they all start to look the same with performance not worth popping the champaign. This is where Prolimatech comes in. We are here to challenge all possible odds and stray away from the norm. With that focus in mind comes the new Megahalems, tower CPU cooler. Never before seen are the new lows in temperature produced by an intelligent design of low air flow resistance with unmatched performance to boost; perfect for the true overclockers in all of us.Specification

(from 14 customer reviews)Brilliant Cooler
I bought this for my first build and 3 years ago and it is still solid as a rock and keeping CPU temperatures right down. The only mis-hap I had was that I didn't lay my PC on it's side when transporting. The weight of the cooler bent some of the CPU pins as the car was bouncing around. It was my own fault of course but worth bearing in mind.
Out performs my friend's water cooling, so I'm very happy!
Biblical
I used to think that nothing would tame a Q6600 and trying to overclock it past 3.2 used to be a futile past time. Now as I sit writing this review my old Q6600 is now stress testing and the hottest core is 63oC and it's running at 3.6Ghz bonkers I couldn't get near that back in the day with even water cooling mind you the HAF 932 probably helps! But as far as air coolers go you'll not find better , did I mention it's also silent? 2 xilence red wings attached. fitting the cooler was effortless and it gets a nice solid bond on the cpu and no twisting or moving around. All in all really pleased with this one.
Prolimatech Megahalems Rev B CPU Cooler
Best cooler iv ever had. Keeps my Core i7 920 at 40 idle and 50-55c load and thats with a 600rpm fan. This even out performs a CoolIT Eco A.L.C. with twin 120mm 600rpm fans in my case.
Awesome product..
I'll not comment on temps and such as I've not got around to pushing this thing yet. There's a couple of things that are good to know if you're looking at buying but aren't sure..
The first is that while it's pretty heavy you shouldn't be worried about it placing strain on your mobo. The fastenings keep this in place securely. It literally doesn't move.
The second is that you should make sure you have enough room inside your case. I can't put the side on mine (old Coolermaster Wavemaster) any more as the thing is too tall.
My case is 198mm wide and this is 158.7mm tall. Cases may vary but you probably have room behind your mobo and the moboplate for wires and such so take that into account.
Best Air Cooler
I got this cooler fitting in an Antec 902, it is brilliant when combined with 2 Akasa Viper fans as my temps on all cores do not touch 70c in Burntest on Maximum whilst they are 40-43c on idle with a i7 920@4ghz and 1.28v.
Only downside when using this cooler with this case is you can not fit a side 120mm fan unless you mod it but other than that it's amazing for games as i only hit 55-60c on each core at 4ghz.
Buy this if you want the best air cooling along with 2 Viper fans plus MX-3 paste.
It's that simple.
Megahalems VS Thermalright Ultra-120
Got this beast to replace my Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme as I wanted to use that in my HTPC. Its slightly deeper but otherwise roughly the same size. It is however heavier.
Fitted it, which was really easy and very sturdy, no worries about it damaging the motherboard.
Once fitted I did some testing with Prime95 and found this CPU cooler to be 7 degrees cooler under no load and a whopping 11 degrees cooler under full load. This is using the same fans, 120mm Noctua NF-P12's. That's 51 degree's under full load on a Q6600 running at 3.5Ghz, Amazing.
For you silent PC guys i tested the cooler with the fans running at 7V and the cooler stayed at 2 degrees under the motherboard temp at 39 degrees.
I would highly recommend this heatsink for anybody who wants to cool either silently or an overclocked CPU. Well worth the money and you have to pay allot more for anything better.
As good as the h50
this is a great cooler. its big and matches the H50 blow by blow in the exact same set up in the same room. its actually better when the heat really gets turned up.. i prefer it to the corsair! plus
Top quality
Fantastic cooler. Well packaged and very good build quality; pricy but you get what you pay for here.
If you are getting this for an AMD mounting you will also need this:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-001-PL&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=1395
Great for AMD as you can mount the cooler in either orientation to ensure best fit and airflow.
best air cooler
Q6600 at 3.5ghz and 25 degrees idle need i say more?
nice n kool
had this cooling my i7 920 @4ghz voltage 1.25 for 2 months now
temps hit 71 deg under prime 95
also 3.6 voltage 1.14 never went over 63 under prime 95 10 hours
easy to install best bolt through ive seen..
buy the extra fan clips for 2fan setup in push n pull
just google the benchmarks on this cooler its outstandingly great
Awesome
Upgraded from an arctic cooler xtreme, brought temps down by 15c!.
Well worth the money
Simply brilliant cooler!
I had no problems fitting it to my 775 setup. Instructions are very clear and the product is of excellent build quality.
Rev.B version has an updated mount to the motherboard for greater compatability and also includes extra clips to hold 2 fans in a push-pull combination.
This cooler is supplied as fan only, but those in the market for this type of cooler will likely want to use a fan of thier own choice anyway.
Keeps my Q9550 nice and cool at 3.4 GHz. 36 deg. idle - 46 deg. full load in prime95 at stock volts. Not exactly pushing it, but I like a balance of performance vs reliability.
All in all, I think this is a great cooler for the money. 5/5!
Excellent
Apart from having to take my PC apart I have had my i7 920 running at 3.8Ghz stable 24/7 for the past 2 months. I put this with an apache fan on a ASUS P6T. Temps idle around 40 max around 65.
Great but has a build problem
A great cooler for sure and has been doing a great job since I installed it last week. However the holes in the base are too small for the bolts so you will need to drill them out!! Not idea and it should be flagged up to the manufacturers. Other than that i would give it a 5 out of 5 rating
