Product information: Panther CPU Cooler

Prolimatech has taken its inspiration for this new cooler from the Armageddon, which results in the same excellent performance at a brand new price point. Both feature the same heatpipe shape, with the only difference being the number of such element as the Panther offers four 6 mm pipes.
In terms of construction, the cooler makes no compromises and offers the same level of quality as one has come to expect from Prolimatech. High quality Nickel plating has been applied to the entire cooler which does not only protect the unit but also results in a great look and feel. On top of that, the crossed fins increase the robustness of the Panther cooler.
The sophistication of this construction also shows in the shape of the heatpipes. These end in a row next to each other, so that each of them has unrestricted access to the fresh airflow of the included fan. This maximizes the efficiency of the Panther CPU cooler, while keeping the dimensions to a minimum.
The 120 mm fan with PWM connector can be controlled automatically by every modern mainboard in the market to keep the noise to a bare minimum. This cooling unit also features transparent red blades along with red LEDs. Prolimatech has also included a second set of clips, allowing the installation of another such fan for a push/pull configuration, further raising the performance bar on this cooler. Also part of the package is the award winning PK-1 thermal past and the very sturdy mounting kit with backplate for Socket 1155, 1156, AM2, AM2+ and AM3.

- Dimensions (with fan): 130 x 158 x 73 mm
- Heatpipes: 4x Ø 6 mm
- Fan: 120 mm (Red LED)
- Fan Noise: (29,1 dB(A)
- Fan RPM: 1.600 U/min +-10%, max.

Great Cooler but Fiddly to Fit

Bought this to replace my stock heatsink on my i5 4670k 3.4ghz which when playing BF4 would have my cpu running at a high of 92c but after installing this fan it's now only reaching a max of 64c. One thing i would say it's a pain to fit screws felt about 2mm to short so had to apply plenty of pressure to get the screws to take but this is only a minor gripe. Oh and the red LED's look great and go well with the rest the red illumination in my case.

Does what it says

Good little cooler this for the price. Happily keeping my 4670k at 4.5GHz 1.3v under 60 degrees while gaming.

Pretty quiet too when the CPU isn't being pushed hard.

Prolimatech Panther

I bought this cpu cooler at the time of purchase of a 4770k, my decision to buy was made on the fact OCUK use these on some pre built and overclocked Intel systems. Great cooler for the money, it handled my 4770k@4.5ghz with a single fan, also contains spare clips for push pull to drop the temps further.

Great fan but minor fitting issue

Replaced my intel stock fan with this after I noticed my CPU reaching 98c after less than a minute while playing bf3. Since putting this fan in temps have not exceeded 55c and the ambient air temp is approx 10 degrees higher.

Very small gripe is that once you screw the amd or intel arms to the heat sink the screws cross thread themselves so they don't come out easily (I had to use mole grips after putting the wrong wing on). While in a way this is good as it reduces the chance of it coming loose don't buy this fan if you're thinking you might swap between an intel and amd package

Awesome Cooler well worth the money

running on a ROG asus crosshair IV board with 1090t x6 AMD cpu currently running standard with 8gb of Corsair XMS3 memory on a AMD standard CPU fan for a year. till recently its been okish, but been having some serious overheating issues the last couple of months with the humid weather rearing its ugly head in the UK. i also would like to bring its 4ghz potential into play in the future. and im pretty sure this fan shouldnt have a problem! on the standard fan i was running 55c idle, 67 under load (causing the system to freak out and restart) now im running 36 idle and 49c under load.
