MK-85 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Red LED Backlight - UK Layout - Red Switches

Unlike your average keyboard, that functions through rubber domes, forcing you to press each key all the way down in order for the stroke to register, the MK-85 feature true mechanical switches with unmatched accuracy and feel. No more pressing with full-force in order to activate the keys. The QPAD keyboard will respond to your every stroke in an instant

Other boards normally have a short life span and wear out quickly, resulting in unresponsiveness, delays and a dull, clunky feel to the keys. The key switches on MK-85 are built to last 50 million strokes, and the QPAD mechanical key technology provides distinct feedback and puts you in absolute control. The travel distance of the keys is set to 4mm with an actuation point at 2mm.

For gamers, it’s all about the feel and functionallity and that is where the QPAD MK-85 truly shines. With a full size keyboard layout in 3 sections, gaming profiles, macro recording, mechanical key switches, media keys and full N-Key roll over via USB, it’s the perfect gaming keyboard.

Bought this back in September when I was doing my very first pc build. With red being my favourite colour, I just had to pick up this keyboard. Still working top notch and can't praise it much more :). Good value.

Very Pleased

Amazing,,,, no clicking noises with the cherry red switches, but still very responsive, feels like my fingers are having sex with the keys. Keyboard is awesome and feels very well made, thanks for the haribo overclockers

Quality Keyboard

I've had this keyboard for around 4 months and I love it. I'm usually quite critical with computer kit, but its difficult to find anything bad to say about this. Really good build quality, and a pleasure to touch-type and game on. Well done QPAD, and thanks to OcUK for continued excellent service.

Loving It

It's always fatal buying a cheapo keyboard when you're seriously into gaming. For this price for a back lit mechanical gaming KB, it's generally great. Everything you need at your fingertips. Obviously we all know i could have bought a better one, but for a decent budget for what you need.

So far I'd recommend anytime.

I'll re-review in a few months, let you all know how it is after some serious use.

Amazing so far

I've had this for a couple days now and i can honestly say that this is one of the best upgrades i have made. From my old Cyborg V5 this is one of the most comfortable keyboards i have used, and the cherry red switch is really nice for typing and gaming.

The build quality of this board is really sturdy and solid the braided cable is quite thick and chunky but in a good way as it wont ever break i don't think, unless you go at it with snips! :P The extra 4 keys are a nice little addition but i decided to keep the normal keys in place.

Ordered this Thursday 4 pm, received it Friday 11 am, bearing in mind all the snow falling in the north east, and the rest of the country :P but it's quite bad up here, DPD obviously doing there job amazingly.

Props to Overclockers for honoring a price for me. Much love as always. Ryan.

This keyboard is very well built, a note though, if your an MMO gamer you may not want this keyboard, i play some MMO's and find that when you have to hold a key down for along time it can hurt your fingers,

I did notice that some of my keys are actually in the wrong place, the >< keys are back to front and i had to remove them and set them correct,

Other than that its a dream to use.

Arrived next day, perfectly packaged, no damage. Even included a free small bag of Haribo (how did they know Tangfastics are my favourite?!) Keyboard feels great, looks great, it's just great. Took a while for Windows to install the appropriate drivers, but once it was finished there's been no problems since. Worth every penny. Not got a bad thing to say about the product, or Overclockers.co.uk. I'll be back again!

Good but not great

as a keyboard it seems great. keys are great and keyboard generally very well built.

Only thing I didn't like was the MIC input - there is a lot of background noise when you use it. Suspect it because of the power required to backlight the keypad. I notified qpad and they came back saying they were looking into it for the next version and to use a different lighting setting i.e. off or don't use it the mic port. Not particularly satisfactory especially given the cost.

dream to type on

Build Quality 5 Stars, Features 5 stars, typing 5 stars. This is a premium product at a premium price and for me this is worth it.

Daniel 2012-09-05

Not the best

Lets hope my third review gets posted as its a 100% FAIR review, and ALL reviews should be posted not just the positive ones.

The product is fine when working. However mine stopped working within a month (LED'S went) This was a major pain as I had to purchase another keyboard then return my old one at my cost (

A few problems, but worth the money?

I needed a new keyboard since my last one broke, as I spend all day on my PC (PhD Student) I wanted to invest in something which would last and be comfortable.

The first thing I have to say is this keyboard is so nice to type on and to play games with. I'm don't play many games but it is good. The keys are actually really nice to press, and it's amazing the difference it makes when you learn to not down the key all the way like I used to. I'm now typing at around 104 wpm which is an improvement over my Microsoft curvey keyboard.

The problems:
Is it worth the money? Well, it will last a long time and if it's a tool for work then perhaps it is. For gaming.. I don't know how much difference it will make, you won't play better. If you want something sturdy and comfortable, get this.

The backlights won't turn off when my PC does because of the always on USBs. I can change that in BIOS though but shouldn't need to.

The macros are just key macros, such as press x, then y, then z.

worth every penny

boom! perfect keyboard so glad i upgraded, build quality is best ever. Ownd razer, logitech before and you can feel the diffenece. All about the red keys IMO

BERT 2012-07-06

Extremely good

I upgraded to this keyboard from my ageing Saitek Eclipse II (which I had for 6 or so years).

The Qpad is great to type on and for use in gaming, yet to have any real problems with it (I'm not counting my fat fingers not being used to the slightly smaller key surface than on the Saitek). The backlighting is also great, the highest setting is very bright even during the middle of the day. I haven't really used the attached software yet beyond a few tests, but it also appears well designed.

The only thing I can think of so far in a negative manner would be the lack of dedicated media keys, so to do anything media related you have to hit the Fn key and the required F-key.

Unusually for OcUK, it took them an extra day to get this to me from when I ordered it.

Simply the best

My trusty G15 keyboard was slowly going "on the blink" and I decided I needed a replacement. I sought advice on the OcUK forums - I game and also type, and needed a keyboard where the keys were very light touch, as I have rheumatoid arthritis that affects my hands. I also wanted to be able to programme in some macros for this reason, and needed backlighting for night time gaming sessions.

This keyboard does not disappoint, a very neat and pared down appearance but really easy to use the functions with the aid of the software. The ability to adjust the brightness level of the back lighting is a real bonus, especially as the daytime weather has been pretty gloomy at the time of writing. A joy to type on, I can live with the slight clicking! And in game, superb. On my old keyboard which was getting stiff, with the aggravating factor of my fingers I'd cause game freezes sometimes. Not with this one. Splash the cash, it's well worth it!

Best keyboard i ever owned, The keys are like butter. Great for FPS games and Brilliant build quality. The Red MX Keys are perfect. Highly recommend! And also great service from OcUK.

Harry 2012-06-27

Just perfect

Amazing! very very comfertable, strong, strudy feels like it will last 50 years and if it does can see it being as good as the latestest releases in 2060. good software avalible too

Tom J 2012-06-19

This keyboard is by far the best I've had the pleasure to type on. The keys are responsive, comfortable and finished with a rubber coating, and not especially loud. The keyboard itself is sturdy with a satisfying weight - it's built to last. The back lighting is a really nice touch to finish off an excellent product. I upgraded from the microsoft x6, they are worlds apart, would recommend to anyone looking for a mechanical keyboard.

Excellent service from OcUK as usual.

What a difference.

Not much else I can add to the reviews below.

Feels fantastic, looks amazing, is well built and got weight behind it.

Smaller than I thought though.

Liam 2012-05-30

amaze balls

worth the money! Best keyboard in the market, read the reviews! cant see this being beaten for at least a coupkle of years

Adam 2012-05-24

Beautiful Quality

Bought Today 8/05/2012.
All i can say is wow Beautiful keyboard, i did alot of research on every available mechanical keyboard out there and kept comming back to the Qpad 85. The saying is you get what you pay for and in this case it's true. I mostly play MMO'S so the cherry red's are just what i need, the back lighting on the keyboard is top notch, three level's of brightness plus a breathing pulse. The main body of the keyboard and the wrist rest have a textured rubber feel, the keycaps are lazer etched and the letter's are very well defined.
Nice braided cable with gold usb and audio headphone jacks. I think it's the first to have Nkey Roll Over using a usb. It has two usb ports, headphone and mic jack input's.The macro software look's very well built indeed. Dont be put off by the price, it's worth every penny.

mike 2012-05-09

Nearly perfect!

I'm typing to you now on this excellent keyboard, and I can tell you the key activation is obvious and perfect if you pay attention there's a tiny rough zone just before the key-press actually hits however I am used to thin stealth keyboards and laptops, so the depth of the key-press gets me a little sometimes

I can confirm tom is incapable of reading manuals, and they keyboard can and does do everything he noted if used correctly

even the noise level of this keyboard is acceptable, I've honestly heard louder keyboards ( old-school ms keyboards, for example )

if you really use your keyboard 24/7 and need the very best then this board is a beast, but i recommend waiting for special offers at >

Fantastic Keyboard

Took advantage on the weekly deal on the Qpad MK-85. It was replacing my old and very tired MS Sidewinder X6 keyboard. Going to mechanical keys (MX Reds), was such a natural feeling. The keyboard is of high build quality, the keys are buttery smooth and light to the touch but give a solid feel when depressed. The individual key backlighting is extremely good, much better than my previous MS keyboard. Full N key rollover, 2 USB ports, and 2 audio ports. The keyboard measures 448mm long and 213mm deep. It's perfect. I was tempted by the Filco keyboards, but I needed the backlighting for my late night gaming sessions. I am not disappointed , this is a fantastic piece of kit that will make you really want to type more. 5 stars from me. Get one. You won't regret it.

AxeMan 2012-04-18

Excellent Keyboard

I've got the brown key edition than the standard red key edition.

the keyboard is amazing as the prof reviews has described but unfortunately it has some flaws thus the 4 star rating.

*media keys aren't optimized, to operate any other programme than windows media player, for the keys to actually work, you have to activate the play/pause button which launches wmp then the key's magically work with other programmes whilst wmp is open. there are no settings in drivers but probabley fixable but may take a few hours.

*windows key is auto-disabled which is a pain so you have to write a macro to press the windows key.

*Inside the macro programme, you can have multiple keys pressed after each other. unfortunately they've put a minimum delay of 20ms after each key, you have to hardcode the macro's to decrease the minimum delay.

The worst flaw for me:
the LED's stay on even if computer is turned off! this decreases the lifespan of the LED's since on 24/7.

I just bought this keyboard and it

Q 2012-03-14

The Beast

I was quite skeptical on the advantages of a mechanical keyboard, but after my aging Logitech G15 was getting a little bit on the dull side I decided to bite the bullet and go mechanical.

I had never heard of QPAD, but the reviews were absolutely fantastic. The Cherry Red switches make it sound beautiful and not too noisy and my typing has definitely improved already just because of the sleek feel of the keys.

The anti ghosting and rollover is absolutely fantastic for gaming, and the red WASD keys are included with the keyboard key removal tool should you want to change those keys. I personally find them a bit tacky but I understand why people enjoy them.

As always, absolutely fantastic service from OcUK, delivered on time, no complaints.

Dan 2012-03-07

Very good. It's based on an updated XArmor U9 series.

full NKRO (tested), great illumination (it's at minimum atm and plenty enough), feels very sturdy, good macro software, simple layout.

Not much to say otherwise :) It's mechanical, it's expensive, it's rather noisy (compared to my Logitech Illuminated keyboard), it's awesome.

One black mark is that mine does not work in my UEFI bios (AsRock Z68 Extreme 4 Gen3). Not bothered that much TBH, but it is a bit annoying seeing that in an otherwise flawless product.
