Cooling my overclocked FX 8350

I have been using this Ereboss to cool my FX8350 @ 4.6Ghz. It can be a fiddle to install but once fitted I can not fault it. It runs very quiet, almost silent in fact. The slim fan does an amazing job considering it's size. Even overclocked my temps never went above 55'C even while gaming for hours in the middle of summer. For the price this is by far and away the best cooler. Even up to

Big chunk of alluminium

Got this to go with a i7 4790k ,Asus Z97 K , only reason i got it as it was by far the cheapest cooler in the Extreme Performance Air Cooling category here.
Bought it first then started reading the reviews about it (i know should of done some research first) most of the reviews where saying the fan was loud at full speed and the problem with it blocking ram slots , so when it arrived i was all ready to send it back for a refund.
But decided to give it a go and am i glad i gave it a chance and kept it,
Installation was easy enough only problem is you need a screwdriver that can fit in a 1cm hole to tighten one of the screws , needs to have 15cm long shaft.
Mounting the fan was a bit tricky as it seems the rubber mounts are a bit off (get the top ones in the bottom ones are slightly off) , but with a bit of jiggery got it installed.
Moved the ram to slots A2B2 , but you could use all the slots no problem theres about 1mm to spare to the top of my Kingston Hyper x Fury.
Room temp is 17c , Booted her up and after a few mins at idle got 23c (was getting 31c with Zalman CNPS10X performa).
30 mins of Intel extreme tuning utility and the max was 59c (69c on the Zalman).
Virtually silent at idle and not much louder at full speed.

erebos twin fan review

Have no faults with the cooling performance of this cooler, the twin fan setup really only dropped another 2 or 3 degrees c on top of the initial monster drop, system idles around 32 degrees C, and have yet to see it rise over 48 under extended max load stress tests. This isnt the most straight forward cooler to install with the "bar" system. I found it easier to put the fans on last. screw 1 side in slightly and line the other side up while holding the plate off the cpu, once you have both screws in then screw each side down a little bit at a time until you obviously the cooler is secure. This would have received 5 stars but loses 1 star for fan noise level, its not the noise of the air but there must be a design flaw in the fans as they tend to rattle from the main bearing and trust me it can get quite annoying, a simple push on it instantly stops it but it will come back, I`m thinking of weighting the centre of the fan slightly to prevent this. All in all a great performa!
nce cooler for the price, fan noise can be annoying and make sure you have some spare thermal paste incase you dont set it down correctly first time round.

Got one delivered yesterday have to say wow its the biggest heatsink ave seen very easy to fit only dissapointed with the fan as it looked to big to fit had to adjust it to make it fit in my bitfenix case other than that the temps have dropped 30 degrees from stock cooler. Gave four stars for fan being just a bit to big.
