Product information:

C27HG70 27" 2560x1440 VA FreeSync 2 144Hz Gaming Quantum DOT HDR Widescreen Curved Monitor

The CHG70 integrates HDR and quantum dot technologies, with a 144Hz refresh rate further helping to bring out the best in gaming content. This combination offers gamers a viewing arena that is brighter (600nit peak brightness), clearer (2,560×1,440 WQHD resolution) and more luminous, and which brings the slightest visual nuances to the forefront in extremely light or dark environments.

The CHG90 and CHG70 arrive as the best Samsung gaming monitors to feature AMD’s Radeon FreeSync™ technology. Radeon FreeSync™ supports a wide color gamut to showcase HDR content with twice the perceivable brightness and color than that offered by the sRGB standard. As a result, users can enjoy a smooth, low-latency plug-and-play HDR gaming experience without having to frequently readjust software or monitor settings.

As Samsung’s latest gaming monitors prepare to hit the market, the company continues to expand their usability and prepare the wider gaming industry for HDR content. In strategic partnership with the EA studio DICE and Ghost Games, the CHG90 and CHG70 have undergone rigorous tuning to ensure optimal HDR picture quality.

Additionally, both monitors recently received HDR compatibility validation with Nvidia’s graphics cards, ensuring they can clearly showcase a wider range of HDR-based gaming titles and PC devices.

Even prior to their widespread launch, the CHG90 and CHG70 have already earned industry recognition as leaders in the monitor product category. Last month, the Industrial Designers Society of America acknowledged both monitors as part of its annual IDEA Awards, which commemorate technologies for design innovation that improves both the economy and overall quality of life. The CHG90 received a Bronze prize in the program’s Consumer Technology category, with the CHG70 likewise garnering a Finalist nomination in the same group.

Amazing monitor - great performance for the money

Perfect monitor

Very impressed

Got this just before Christmas, as I was very unimpressed with Nvidia's pricing policy this generation and decided it was better not to be locked to their graphics cards. So basically I got rid of my gsync monitor and it has been passed on to a lad a friend knows so hopefully he will be a happy bunny as well.

For the distance I sit from my screen I find the curve far better, on my old screen at times I needed to turn my head sometimes, on this screen I can focus better. I like the colours on the monitor although my guess is it is 8bit+frc not 10bit. I decided to turn the brightness down from the default one hundred percent as I felt white glare, but I think it's contrast level is generally great for games. Colour wise I think it is much more alive than my old tn screen for any use. Not as natural looking as my laptops ips that I am using at this moment but that is expected. In response time though the Samsung va to me at least looks just as fast as my old tn I can't spot the difference so no complaints.

Freesync works with both amd and nvidia cards, I have used both with it. When I first started using it it didn't start up properly at times and it had to be turned off and on, this seems to have been a driver problem on both companies cards, my current amd 5700xt has no problems anymore. The monitor controls seem good but I rarely use them. One strange thing however is that the monitor when you use the control stick to power off seems to only go into standby as a light is always on, so I prefer to use a remote plug to turn it off completely. I have tried hdr but with mixed success but this would probably be better if how games did this was more standardised.

Overall I'm happy and I hope it lasts for many years.
