We at OcUK believe the Nitro RX 480 will be our best selling RX 480 simply because it improves every aspect of the RX 480 by being faster, quieter, cooler, better looking, more features and even better the price premium for all these extras is very minimal, making the Sapphire RX 480 Nitro absolute incredible value for money.

This means the RX 480 is a superb card for those who are still gaming on cards a few generations old as this card offers a vast leap in performance whilst not requiring a power supply upgrade. Also jam packed with features such as full DX12 readyness, VR Ready and the latest GCN architecture this amazingly powerful, quiet and low power card will only get more and more powerful as AMD release further driver updates, meaning this card is a great upgrade that will last years to come. OcUK now stocks several monitors that support Freesync from as little as around £100, which when combined with the RX-480 give the most fluid gaming experience with no stuttering or tearing, just silky smooth graphics.

Absolutely ideal for 720P and 1080P gaming on all the latest titles with maximum visual settings such as Doom, Unreal Tournamount, Hellblade, Fifa 17, Mafia III, Watch Dogs 2, TitanFall 2, Battlefield 1, Dishonored 2, Halo Wars 2 and Ghost Recon. The RX-480 can even manage gaming comfortably at 1440P (2560x1440) which demonstrates truly how powerful this card is, yet it features such a low price point and is a great upgrade for pretty much any PC with a 350W or greater ATX power supply. Should Half Life 3 ever be released, the RX-480 will be the perfect gaming card!!!

Possibly the best 'budget' GPU.

Blown away by this card at the money.

It was a big jump up for me but it's taken a 6 year old struggling Phenom X6 build and turned it into a solid no compromise 1080p gaming rig. I've no doubt with some fiddling of settings it would make a decent 1440p card also.

Gets quite warm/ loud but this can be solved by adjusting the fan curve; it draws a lot less power than my old NVIDIA Zotac AMP card and the RGB lighting is a nice touch.

Highly reccomend.

PS love how after 6 years you guys are still supplying the package with Haribo included :)

Mr Christian Cooke 2016-12-24

Brilliant in crossfire

Got 2 of these in crossfire at 1440p, blisteringly fast! they look great and the noise is pretty low when under load considering theres 2 in my system

Karl 2016-11-09

Hot stuff.

Card is noisy and gets hot, coil whine is horrendous, apart from that the card looks nice with its back plate and led sapphire logo and is a great performer at 1080p

Everything Maxed..just remember the selector

I took delivery of this on Tuesday after my R270 oc edition decived to go to OC heaven after just 2 years.

Spent most of the week with no luck trying to get this to work. Thought my mobbo didnt support it, so upgraded the BIOS, still no luck. Fans spun, it all lit up.
No post.

So, as always, onto customer services and OC as usual were first class. Theyd happy take back and send me another. Something niggled with me so I decided to look again as after alot of reading and people having issues with R480`s, justy under the button to change the led`s , is, the BIOS switch (these are just smaller and smaller getting).

Happy to say after moving the position of the BIOS slider (which I didnt think the card had), all is well and Im maxing settings on all the usual games I play.

Thanks Overclockers, there is a reason Ive been using you for 20+ years, service and gear is just second to none. :)

Mr STEPHEN DONALD 2016-10-09

Very good

This card was an upgrade from my gtx 970 that keeped capping out at 3.5 vrm memory but this beast is 10% faster on most games at least and looks very cool in the case 8gb of ram is amazing as batman maxed out used 5gb of ram so cool

Brilliant Mid-Range card

This card, for it's price, is fantastic! Outstanding performance. I upgraded from a standard R9 255 which wasn't ideal, and they're miles apart! I can run any game on ultra settings at 1080p with ease. The only thing I would say about this card is it can get hotter than other variants, and also is a little louder. This doesn't bother me at all however and it isn't uncomfortable. Totally recommend!

great card for price . i had no problems with temp,average 50. i play arma3 .witcher 3 .hitman .fifa17.
gtav..metal gear v.
no problems at all. all hi res max out. all runs smooth.
and not a big card like my last Sapphire Radeon RX 380. NO FAN NOISE PROBLEMS TOO.

Future Tech, Great Performance, Excellent Value

Joe Easy 2016-09-23

Simply a must have card for the price range!

Great bang for buck card aswell as a great quality product as a whole!

Sapphires TRIXX 3.0 software was released a week ago on Beta which allows you to change the RGB settings on the fly with out having to remove your side panel and press the switch on the card itself.

This is a really powerful card for the price, im able to play most games on my Acer Predator XR341CKB 34" 3440x1440 IPS 75Hz WideScreen Super-Wide Curved LED Freesync Monitor at a stable 60-75 FPS in most games on high settings which is ridiculously INSANE!

Currently gaming with this card till the RX 490 or RX 490X releases but thats only for Star Citizen!

I believe this card will only get better as it gets older, with DX12 and Vulkan paving the way to a brighter future for AMD cards with async compute being king of these new API's.

I can see why OCUK believe this will be their best selling card.

If you're thinking about the RX 480 vs the GTX 1060 this card out performs it in the new API's and has more Vram to make it last longer before needing to upgrade!

Honestly you will struggle to find a more powerful GPU for £250, this card is probably the best looking card I have ever owned. I'm running this little monster @1450mhz on the core and VRAM at 2150. This card sends a GTX 1060 to Hell when Overckocked. The card is Rock solid stable and temps are not going above 74 Celsius. I will buy another and initiate Crossfire. I must note that this card blows the air out the back of the case in a blower fan style which makes this perfect for crossfire. The LEDs are stunning but the backplate takes the cake. Forget the rest this is the best Rx480 out there at a reasonable price. 1450mhz on air!!

This card runs every game I have on Max settings at 1080p. This is on an the second PC an old a 4 core with just 8GB system ram. Yet regularly hits the 60fps limit of the TV.

Games tested so far at max: Fallout 4 - 50fps
Grid - 60fps limit
The Crew - 60fps limit

When was the last time a £260 card could hit Max game settings for the current titles?

Memory overclocks straight to 2100 without a hitch. Will push the cards limits once it's in the main watercooled system.

Good stuff

Very pleased with this card so far. Highest temp i've seen is 80, average load temp is about 74, idle temp is around 45. When first received i whacked it to a 1395mhz overclock and had no problems playing overwatch for 2 days, got a freeze playing Doom through so pulled it back to 1365 and seems very stable here. I don't see any kind of throttling, it maintains max mhz for entire 3 hour gaming sessions.
Knocked a point off because fans are loud when they approach 3000 rpm which they do frequently, especially if you set the target temp in wattman quite low as i have set it to 73. Also, there is some significant coil whine. Neither of these things bother me as i wear headphones or use big ass z5500 speakers when gaming, but they may bother you.

Good upgrade

Came from a 280x to this, runs sweet so far.

Great service from OcUK as always.

Matteysan 2016-08-27

Great card for a great price

This replaced my ageing 650 Ti and easily gets 60+ FPS in games. Paired with my AOC G2460PF, I can use FreeSync and see the glorious frames up to 144.

Fantastic card for the money

It's easy to see why this card sold out so quickly, it really is a fantastic investment for the money. I think AMD made a very wise move targetting a large set of gamers who will no doubt wish to purchase the best card they can for this price bracket.

I've moved from an R290 Tri-X which when 100% busy would draw 220-230 watts whereas this card averages at about 150 watt when busy, plus is quieter.

I'm gaming at 1080p for the time being but everything I have thrown at it runs silky smooth with all settings at their very highest.

Sapphire have made a wise choice by providing an 8-Pin power connector over the reference 6-Pin to give the card a bit of room to breath.

You get lots of power for your money and with this being a new architecture you can only expect more performance for your money in terms of driver updates and games that adopt DX12 & Vulkan.

Fantastic card, exceptional cooler

Massive upgrade from my r9 280, performs fantastically at 1440p.
The cooler is amazing and sapphire did an incredible job on it, stock settings on wattman and this card sits around 73C for me and its super quiet as well. The easily removable fans are a great idea and its one of the best looking cards i've seen, so a bonus if your case has a side window.
That and the fact that there was a little bag of haribo in the box this was shipped in makes this easily my best PC purchase

Dan 2016-08-20

Great upgrade!!

I upgraded from my HD5770 to this and wow what a difference. Running it with an i5-2500K @ 4.2. Next will be a new board and processor and ram. This is perfect for what I need. Super fast shipping.

Excellent value for money

Amazing value for money. The card comes out of the box with a pretty nice factory OC but it also comes with a bios switch allowing you to undervolt and set the clock to the reference levels. I've set mine to silent mode as the OC mode does generate a little noise. Personally I'd prefer it to be quieter. But tbh the noise is worth the extra frames if it doesn't bother you.

I'm getting great gaming performance in No Mans Sky right now. Not tested any other games, but who is playing any other games right now xD.

This card is deffo worth every penny.
