Radeon RX VEGA 56 Pulse 8GB HBM2 PCI-Express Graphics Card (11276-02-40G)

The base of the new SAPPHIRE PULSE graphics card is a powerful Radeon RX Vega 56 chip featuring 3584 Stream Processors running with a factory-overclocked 1512 MHz Boost Clock. 8 GB of 2nd generation High Bandwidth Memory is clocked at 800 MHz (1600 Mbps Effective). Using a switch on the top of the card the user can choose a second UEFI BIOS with an efficiency preset, resulting in slightly lower clocks but also lower temperatures and power draw resulting in a quieter cooling.

To effectively cool a factory-overclocked GPU, SAPPHIRE is using a large heatsink with a copper base and a set of four 8 mm heatpipes. The card’s heatsink actually extends past the short PCB for an increased heat dissipation area. A robust cooling module is also applied to the VRM section, with separate heatsink units connected by a single 6 mm heatpipe and aluminum base. There is also a high thermal conductivity pad on the backplate. Two efficient dual-ball bearing fans spin at a nominal speed of up to 1650 RPM, maintaining a great airflow and quiet operation. Intelligent Fan Control III system ensures the fans start precisely at 55 degrees Celsius, providing a passive, noiseless cooling in idle.

The SAPPHIRE PULSE Radeon RX Vega 56 is a cohesively designed product, with the fan shroud, the aluminum backplate and the back heatsink frame all accentuating the series’ unique style.

Making no compromises on components, the SAPPHIRE PULSE Radeon RX Vega 56 features latest generation of Black Diamond Chokes for reduced coil temperatures and better power efficiency. The external PCI-E power connectors have a fuse protection built into the circuit to better protect the card.

Fantastic card

I've had this for about a year now, and it's been a brilliant purchase. Probably still got another year or even 2 in it and it works brilliantly in both Win10 and Linux for gaming.

Got the 3 free games with it at the time, which was about £130 of freebies. Great purchase and we'll recommended!

Great price to performance

Can do 1440p but I game at 1080p and don't have to worry about what settings I have on. Got the 3 free games aswell. So cheap for what you get for under £300

2nd review

had card a couple of months now, considered overclocking and studied best ways to get best performance from reading others attempts on forums and looked at utube video's etc, with performance out of box and taking into account voltage plus temps and performance really think no point, card really has come to life with the division2 on ultra at 2560 x 1440 really stunning to watch, on the whole a quite card, looks good even though cable fixed to middle of card, invested in some really good quality white cuctom cables from overeclockers and actually looks really cool with cables at front in my opinion, since buying this card the nvidea releases 1660 ti and this baby walks all over it, look at benchmarks this is on par with 1080 performance, this has got to be the best card for price on performance per buck at moment, division2 on ultra and free saving ya another fifty quid bargain, near on rtx 2060 performance at about £75 cheaper though on some games can beat rtx 2060, buy buy buy,

Brought this when it had a price drop to £278 with the free 3 games when Nvidia brought out the 1660ti. Glad i did, no complaints really. A few teething problems which just needed tweaking, but nothing major. Ive not tried undervolting and overclocking yet in an attempt to get the best out the card yet as i know its the best way to go, (still researching), Ive only had it coming up to two weeks and done quiet a bit of gaming, temps seem to never go above 56c, and with the driver updates over the past year or so this card has come on leaps and bounds. On released it was bellow a a 1070, now its near enough on par with 1080/2060 for a better price, you cant go wrong along with the free games. Yes, the power cables in the middle might be a bit out of place, but no problems routing mine there.

VERY VERY well built Nano card that just oozes CLASS

I had my heart set on the Sapphire NITRO vega64 but I overspent so decided to settle for the Pulse Vega56 after the reviews on Youtube all favoured the 56 over the 64. I can honestly say that this card has got CLASS!!! It is completely silent, these fan blades have been designed properely. IT is very stable doesn't crash at all and the tempreture usually sits below 55C that is at 1637mhz gpu and 945mhz HBM memory all settings maxed at 4K on a 50inch 4KTV. The Temps sit around 55C regardless of the game but FiFa18 world cup Russia on ultra 4k settings gives between 130 and 180 fps. The HBM memory does overclock to the vega64 945mhz and out of the box the boost gpu clock is 1592mhz but I run it at nearl;y 1640mhz but the card seems to have so much oomph behind it that it doesn't need to flog itself to death like my STRIX RX470 did it still has loads left that it doesn;t EVER get hot and in fifa18 it was using between 5watts and 80 watts mostly around 45-50-watts which gives you some idea of the performances as it is factory rated at 180watts, bare in mind the RX470 is rated at 175 watts and that card had to use most of it making hell of a racket. I want another one!!!

I regret nothing

Actually surprisingly efficient, doesn't go above 180 while running heaven for me, and that's before an undervolt
Power connectors are in a bit of an awkward spot and could get in the way of the LED if you don't managed to take it over the top
Looks decent when you see it up front
can keep under 75 degrees at just 1600rpm (at least after the undervolt and overclock)
also a very good upgrade from the rx 480, great for 1080p144 gaming
also it's quite thick and practically made of heatsink, which a nice backplate design

blown away

Well lets juust say very happy with purchase and 3 games, parks itself just behind the vega 64 and £100 cheaper plus sits between 1070 and 1080 and in some games beats 1080, mine is running silent at 1590mhz straight out box and pretty quite even under load, early dats as only had a day but the upgrade in performance from my strix r9 390 to this is amazing, gone from aircraft carrier to ufo in userbenchmark as one example, why wait for new cards to come out in nedar futuer that will at this price point as i see it keep you in same ball park as for performance at this price point anyway, as for temps well dopwn from r9 390 plus power draw down as well, what is not to like, omly gripe i have is no sapphire sticker in box but overclockers made up for that with free sweetie's, 10/10, rol on metro exodus.

That is it!

That is great graphic card, working with my i3-7350k awesome. 2x more fps after transferring from rx480, nothing more is needed to fullhd, the card is inaudible when using the internet, the fans only turn on when playing a challenging game. It's good to have a fan on the top of the case because the backplate is only on the middle of the card and the hot air heats the interior. the maximum temperature I have observed is 76 degrees in Conan Exiles, but in other games like GTA V, CS: GO, WoT, Need For Speed, PUBG, Rust, the temperature does not exceed 60 degrees.

Great Vega 56 card, huge value

Best Vega 56 card for the money, potentially the best overall. Almost 20 degrees cooler (and thus much quieter) than the Asus Strix 56 I'm replaced with this. Undervolts/overclocks well. Power connectors are in a bit of a non-optimal spot but that's the only negative I see so far (aside from the December 2018 AMD driver release being a bit weird). Also, pleased with the very fast international shipping from Overclockers.

Fantastic performance at 144 fps

Vega is a strange beast, the arcitecture runs hot and its a little power thristy however this can easily be tamed with a little tweaking in AMDs Wattman software (which has just had a major update making it much better than nvidias software).

All Vega cards are basically at the max voltage limits out of the factory which in some cards limits performace and it makes them run hotter, look up a guide to undervolting and you will nto only interest your preformance but also give you room to overclock in a more tradional sense.

My card happily runs between 65-70 degrees C drawing about 180-240Ws (all according to HWinfo), the only minor issue I have with the card is the power pins being in the middle of the unit as the card sports a nano pcb. Figure out a nice way to route your cables if you care about visuals and you will have a great card with amazing price for performance.

Excellent performance with acceptable temperatures

I absolutely love my Pulse. Bought it while it had the special deal where you get 3 free games (future releases) and I am just very happy in general.

The reasons I don't give this a 10:

Unable to control the fans manually. This is super annoying for me, but it's due to Sapphire having "Intelligent fan control" which is written into the BIOS, no programs can override the fan control so you have no way of adjusting the fans or the curve yourself. The only way to do this would be with a BIOS mod and therefore voiding your warranty. The fans kick in at (53C?) and it's not audible really, they can ramp up to 1600RPM, or with the secondary BIOS or 1900 RPM(?) on the primary (slightly audible but nothing major really)

The other small thing I didn't like is that it's very hard to route your cables acceptably, since the 2x 8Pin power is in the middle of the card due to the nano PCB. Therefore most of the ways (depending on your case) but you will cover up the red-lit Pulse logo which is rather annoying.

Other than that as I said, the card demolishes games in 1440p, I have 144Hz FreeSync too and it's just a beauty. Very good value! Card received has Samsung HBM memory so I clocked it to 945Mhz to match the Vega 64 and I get around 10% performance boost (975Mhz works but isn't stable) in combination with the core clock holding 1575-1600Mhz during gaming.
