Product information: Ninja 3 High Performance CPU Cooler

The third edition of the Ninja CPU cooler comes with a revised high-performance design. The Ninja 3 CPU cooler has eight U-shaped heat pipes and an optimised fin structure called M.A.P.S. (Multiple Airflow Pass-Through Structure). The airflow generated by the included Scythe Slip Stream 120 PWM Adjustable fan can effectively cool the heatsink.
You can choose between fully automatic PWM fan speed control or alternatively adjust the PWM band range for tuning purposes. Several features make this cooler the perfect solution for silent PC users and overclockers! And finally, the F.M.S.B.2 (Flip Mount Super Back Plate 2) back-plate system provides a totally safe cooler mounting mechanism, guaranteed!

Great Cooler but Tender Thumbs

Fitted this to an Asus P8H61-M with an i3; it's a bedroom PC that I use for office tasks, a TV card, and older games like Medal of Honor Allied Assault.

And boy was it an allied assault fitting this this thing to the 1155 socket! My thumbs and index fingers feel like I had my first lesson on double bass yesterday. It's all thanks to the ridiculous fixing screws (tiny knurled sleeves), along with fixing rods hardly long enough to go through the board, and the heat sink fixing bracket.

If I had fitted this to a socket 2011 board this would have been a five star review, since they give you standard fixing nuts and a little spanner to use.

I now get 3.4 GHz from the i3 and once I replace the cheep and cheerfull PSU with a dual 12 volt rail model I'd lay money on getting to at least 3.7 GHz, since this cooler has dropped the CPU temerature at no laod by a third. As for the temperatures as I slay the bosh; once my sore thumbs recover I'll plug in the game pad and find out!

best performance for price.

im running an i7 1366 at 2.66ghz, 6gb of ram and a GTX460 1gb OC gpu with a dual monitor setup.

before installing this my system would idle with intels stock cooler in the mid 40's to mid 50's and jump from 60 to anywhere as high as 95 (all in degrees celcius)

i installed this with some arctic silver 5 after treating the cpu and coolers surfaces with arcticlean TIM cleaner and purifier and now i idle the mid 30's and dont go any higher than 65 when playing games like far cry 2 with graphic settings completely maxed!

i would highly recomend this cooler. the 120mm fan is actually pretty quiet for a 2000+rpm fan.

im upgrading my stock 120mm fans to scythe gentle typhoon and this will being the temps even lower.

essentaily this is the best performance aftermarket cpu cooler you can buy for under

Nice cooler for its price

I am using this cooler for my i5 760 (s1156), and i like it. I keep the fan on lowest speed, and my CPU is 25*C when i play. You can also adjust the fan speed.

This cooler is definetly worth the money, but as an alternative, you can try "Antec Kuhler Box High Performance CPU Cooler" (stock code HS-002-AN).

You need two pair of hands to install it if you're unexpierenced. I installed it alone, but if you never tried to install a big cooler before - ask for help.
