You might already be aware that Scythe had previously released a CPU cooler called the Samurai. The original Samurai was a great success for Scythe and it would not surprise us if this was the sole reason they decided to use the same name on their newest offering. However, the only similarity between the old Samurai and the new Samurai ZZ is the name. The new cooler looks nothing like its predecessor, as you can see from the image below.
When looking to choose a CPU cooler, there are many factors to consider. Naturally we believe that one of the most important factors is noise, and the quieter the better. The Samurai ZZ is not the quietest CPU cooler we stock but in contrast to a stock cooler it is very quiet indeed. Another important factor is performance: there is no point in changing a cooler if it is going to result in higher CPU temperatures. Again, the Samurai ZZ excels there. Improved quieter cooling - an excellent combination!

Very cool but fiddly

Brought this after stock cooler started playing up. It is incredibly fiddly to install if you can't take the mobo out as you can't turn the top push pins otherwise. The socket clips are really easy to install and is currently sitting in my rig . It's not louder than the stock cooler when it was working and also having a side intake fan blowing into this too helping air flow.

I teamed this up with AC5 and now my stock i3-530 @ 2.93Ghz is running at ~24C idle and 44C (tops) on load.

very good

My i3 540 is in a cooler master 360 case with no fans only this. it's running 4ghz @ 1.35V idle 37c load 58c, under the condition that is sweet as it going to get in such a compacted case. stock cooler would only run 3.5ghz with idle 45c load 68c
