Ignore my previous, dead just after warr

OK, so I bought the drive in Jan'13. It has been used as a media storage drive only, no hard tasks and Very little deletion, just place files onto it and leave them be.
The noise i mentioned never goes away and it rumbles all the time....until today!
Detected increasing ATA error count, Detected increasing reallocated sector count,Detected high uncorrectable error count and then it promptly died, just like that! Rang OCuk to find they sold this drive Pre 2015 with a 2 year warranty so i'm out of luck, complete joke of a drive to fail 2 years. I still have my WD greens that run all the time and they are going strong. DO NOT BUY this model of drive, I for one will not buy another Seagate drive after this.

The drive failed just one month out of the warranty period. There was no warning and all data was lost, I'm sticking with WD now as the two Seagates I have owned have died in the same way whilst I still have WD drives over 8 years old that still function.

Failed after 6 months

I bought a pair of these to set up a mirrored pair for my "slow" storage. The first one has now died after only six months, which is pretty poor. Hopefully the ever-efficient Overclockers guys will arrange a replacement before I start having trouble with its mate...

3 Months past warranty

1st drive has failed in my Nas 3 Months past warranty and second has started reporting errors.

Worked fine with scheduled tests once a week until now.

First one died after 6 months second die

I had one of these drives about a year and a half back, after under 6 months of use it crashed, luckily it wasn't heavily used so not much was on it. Seagate sent me a replacement out under warranty and I made the mistake of saturating the full 3TB with everything I hold dear (photography mostly) and today whilst using it, It crashed out, now once again I cant see the drive (same issue as before) in windows and I've lost everything.

Possibly the last Seagate drive I buy.

So far so good

Really fast, very quiet and of course spacious. Finally I have room for all these zombie b-movies I am going to watch one day.

Ran fine for 18 months...

Ran fine in a ZyXEL NAS box for 18 months, 24/7 but then suddenly died catastrophically; no recovery of data possible. Great for desktops etc but perhaps not for always-on systems? Next time I think I'll pay the

Good Drives

I have now purchased two of these drives, haven't had any problems what so ever, Installed straight into a Server PC, Running Windows Server R2 the OS detected the drives, I didn't have any problems in the OS seeing all 3TB on both drives. So happy days really.

2 months past warranty

This has been a good storage drive apart from the random "chirp" noise that a few people have had (on seagate website) up until today, suddenly the Drive disappeared then after a reboot it reappeared but hard disk sentinel is reporting health of 88%.Sentinel does advise that the drive is not bad enough to be RMA'd but even if it was I

Great drive!

Don't be put of by people saying it's noisy,I personally can't hear anything in my pc! Will be getting another just for movies and digital content in the future!

Does what it says...But NOISY

Got this drive to expand storage (i have 3 WD green @ 2TB each) and wanted to start moving to bigger drives. Can't fault the speed or capacity of the drive, however, it make a god awful noise. On boot the whole machine no sounds like it's reading for take off. The drive seems to just make a lot of low frequency Vibration noise. Such a shame.

If you want extra storage and are not worried about background noise/vibration then this drive is perfect.

I WILL NOT be putting this drive into my NAS unit just because of the noise. I'll be changing it for a WD green ASAP.
