Product information: 6G v2 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard (64226) - Black Switch

The SteelSeries 6Gv2, modeled after the award winning SteelSeries 7G keyboard, is the lower priced mechanical keyboard designed to improve the user's ability to obtain more actions per minute than any other keyboard on the market. The SteelSeries G Series Keyboards redefine “anti-ghosting" features by supporting as many simultaneous key presses as there are keys on the keyboard.

The SteelSeries 6Gv2 features PS/2 and gold-plated USB connectors as well as 18K gold-plated mechanical switches with a switch lifetime of 50 million operations, more than 10 times the lifespan of a typical “membrane" keyboard. Its increased response times and extreme durability make the SteelSeries 6Gv2 the ultimate keyboard option for gamers

- Gold-plated mechanical switches
- Lower-priced alternative to the extremely well-renowned SteelSeries 7G
- Anti Ghosting allows as many simultaneous key presses as there are keys on the keyboard
- Rapid response time. No-click mechanical switches ensure low latency and fast response.
- Unrivaled lifecycle guarantees keyboard lifecycle of 50 million keystrokes
- Media controll for quick access to volume, mute and other audio controls
- Increased APM. All facets of the 6Gv2 are included to increase the users' actions per minute
- Like a tank 6Gv2 can withstand punishment. Seriously.

Superb keyboard!

I am in love with this keyboard! I've had mine for a few weeks now and now i'd never go back to a non mechanical keyboard.

For online gaming it is perfect and for every day use it's good too. I really wish it was back-lit but at around

First class

If you are looking for your first Mechanical keyboard and you don't want to pay for a 7G, Das or Qpad etc then this keyboard is the one for you.

This keyboard is super robust, has a nice feel to it and is really nice for gaming as well typing aslong as you are a quick typist. If you type slow or aren't all that quick then you might not like the feel, but quick typing your fingers glide.

Reading reviews i was a little worried that people were getting finger fatigue because the keys have a high pressure to activate them compared to other keyboards. (70 or 80 grams of force?) However i have not had any problems.

I did have a small problem though. I dont know if it was just mine but my space bar has a pretty sharp edge to it. So that edge plus the angle of the spacebar meant it was digging into my thumb quite a bit and after a few days gave me a small lump. However i got around this by removing the key and spinning it 180!

The lack of features isn't an issue for me.

Fantastic keyboard

Not bad.

Overall the keyboard is extremely good and I would recommend it, however I wouldn't say that it is the best out there.

There has always been a rivalry between the Steelseries / Razer mechanical keyboards and I have tested them both and the Steelseries is by far better. The build quality of the SS is light years away from the Razer, the keys feel much nicer to press and the overall look is simpler/better.

I've owned the SS for a good 2 months now and have had no issues except the keys of frequently pressed keys starting to fade (W,A,S,D,Shift).

If you can afford it I would go for a DAS keyboard. They are the best keyboards out there by far, I went for the SS since it was the best out there for the money I had, and I don't regret it at all.

So yeah, all in all it's awesome, but watch out for fading keys.

Simple

Had this keyboard for about 2 months now. It's simply functional, robust, nice click when typing, no fancy lights or gimmicks, responsive, and not cheap.

I love it.
