Kana Optical Gaming Mouse - Black (62030)

The SteelSeries Kana is an optical, ambidextrous mouse designed for all three grip styles: palm, claw and swipe. The functionality, ergonomic button layout and size was perfected alongside SteelSeries’ professional gaming teams, who also tested and validated the precision and power hidden in the Kana’s modest exterior. Make no mistake; this mouse was built for consistency and accuracy even in professional tournament conditions. Designed by Gamers: SteelSeries Kana is available in two versions; the first named White, while the second was selected by SteelSeries’ Facebook community of more than 300,000 gamers and where 60,000 "Likes" determined the winning design, Black1.1.

nice but has issues

Bought this mouse and its comfortable and nice to play with... i have tried copperheads and habu's in the past and couldnt move on from my intelli 3. the prediction on the kana is good and fragging on fps games seems to improve. However the stability is rubbish... in game or not the mouse cursor or crosshair just goes of on one for a second like it spasms. My pc spec is pretty up to date so theres no issue there.... I played around with polling rates etc and still had issues. Tried with and with out the steel series engine installed aswell and still had issues. So I have sent it back and i am now back using the intelli again (sigh). I have just bought the zowie ec2 so fingers cross the stability is as good as the intelli and the performance is as good as the kana.

Not too shabby

My 3rd logitech G3 laser mouse, the most perfect mouse in the history of mousekind died on me, the left click button failed after probably 10 billion shots on various FPS games.

Couldn't find a replacement so I went with the Kana. I like the size, the matt finish, the scroll wheel, how I can program the different resolutions and it lights up too.

But the left and right side buttons let it down slightly. The side buttons sit flush to the body of the mouse, I'm right handed so the left side button works fine with my thumb, the right side button is slightly awkward to press for me, whereas the side buttons on the G3 stood slightly proud of the mouse body and I had no problems pressing either of them.

Quality mouse, feels good and accurate, just those flush side buttons are not absolute perfection, good but not perfect. Might try cleaning my old G3 and see if I can revive it for a while.

Very pleased

I looked at several gaming mice before finally deciding to choose the SteelSeries Kana. I've never felt the need to have a mouse with ridiculous amounts of extra buttons on. Sure they look cool and futuristic but inevitably you just end up pressing them accidentally or neglecting them altogether. I just need a good solid mouse with a comfortable design and this mouse delivers. It feels very well put together and comes with a heavy duty cord. Nice feel to the left/right clicks and a properly notched mouse wheel, plus a couple of forward and back buttons on either side. It also looks very nice and the selling point for me was that it matched my red and black colour scheme to go with my gaming rig. The underside glows red and the mousewheel lights up and can be toggles on or off.
All in all a very nice addition.
