5 Port Easy Desktop Switch ()

Connect All of Your Devices with Gigabit Speed
Expand your wired home network with the 5-Port Gigabit Easy Desktop Switch. By connecting the 5-Port Gigabit Easy Desktop Switch to your router, you can add up to four more computers to your home network with Gigabit connectivity. Add devices like your gaming console, printer, print server, Network-Attached Storage (NAS) or network camera with a simple Ethernet cable.

Compact Design
This Desktop Switch fits virtually anywhere because of its compact size. Its power connector and ports are conveniently located in the rear to avoid messy cables on the desk.

Effortless High Speed Networking
Features easy access auto sensing Gigabit front Ethernet ports with a LED indicator for each port to quickly distinguish link status and activity. The 5-Port Gigabit Easy Desktop Switch also supports Auto MDI/MDIX Crossover allowing each port to be plugged directly to a server, hub, router, or switch using regular straight-through twisted-pair Ethernet cables to get you the maximum speed possible for each device connected to your network.

Plug and Play Installation
The 5-Port Gigabit Easy Desktop Switch is a Plug-and-Play device that requires no configuration, so setup is simple and hassle-free. But we know that setting up your switch is only the beginning; you can also easily connect multiple computers, share files, music, and video across your home or small office network, or even create a multi-player gaming environment.

D-Link Green Technology
The 5-Port Gigabit Easy Desktop Switch is part of D-Link’s new series of SOHO devices that make use of D-Link’s Green Technology, providing energy savings, reduced heat, and a longer product life without sacrificing performance or functionality. An energy-efficient power adapter (EnergyStar Level V qualified), minimized use of harmful substances (RoHS compliant), and recyclable packaging make this switch truly environmentally friendly.

Does what it says on the box, had no trouble setting it up as its just plug and play. Easily mounts onto the wall with the 2 screw hook bits. Have been using for a while now with no problems.

Nice Addition

I needed this for an extension in my home office. Instead of buying the Power line Networking I run a Cat-6 cable upstairs into the back of this.

I have a home server running Windows 2008 R2 and my development machine, alongside a laptop that is used for gaming. Real simple to setup as switches usually are, both the PC and the Server picked up the 1Gbps connection and I was able to transfer a 2.8 GB file at 85 mbps. I think the file transfer was limited by the disk I/O on the home server.

Superb Bit of Kit

Certainly worth the money for a Gigabit upgrade, simple clean look and does the job great !

Best for price/performance

This is my second TL-SG2005D.
The other one has been absolutely flawless.
The only difference between this Ver5.0
and my old ver3.2 is that the new model no longer has different coloured speed indicators. All you get now is whether it is connected or not.
I assume this is to keep the price down

Works a treat

Works like a charm.

Plug in the cable from your router (if your using it to extend the amount of ports) and then plug an extra 4 computers into it.

Works perfectly.

I have had no issues with it at all.

And as normal I ordered this well after 12:00pm and still got it next day.

Great service as usual.

Just the job

Moderately small, silent, happy to sit in a corner and make no fuss while doing its job. Cheap it may be, but that's no reason to worry. Never seems to falter, no network disconnects. Noticeably faster than 100 megabit switches, and infinitely better than wireless.

It's brilliant....

+1 here. Just to give you an idea of the performance gains I report on two things.

1.) To test I copied 9 gb of video files across the network. Took just 2 minutes where as before well over an hour!

2.) It feels like your copying files between HDD's within a PC rather than shunting stuff across the LAN.

3.) For that price and for how it can "open up" your network for more usage, you cant fail with this.

Go for it! You wont regret it.

I couldn't believe how cheap this was.. I was really expecting something to be wrong with it, but it works perfectly!

The flashing LEDs are useful too. Green means gigabit and orange; 100mbit.

I would definitely recommend this!
