Blisteringly fast

Got this a couple of weeks ago. Card looks awesome (not that that matters cos it's hidden in the case!). As per other reviews, it runs HOT (i've seen 85degC after a gaming session) and fan runs at about 40% default. it supports PCB temp to so the Win Vista/7 sidebar gadgets display both core and PCB temp - nice.

It's really damn fast - playing BFBC2 with everything on max and it's silky smooth.

Seems to run fine on my 550W power supply - although make sure you have enough free power plugs for it as it needs FOUR molex connectors (i.e. two of the square PCI-E gfx power connectors).

Recommended - significantly more expensive than the GTX260, but IMHO worth it.

One that doesn't go pop

Only fair that I review the replacement card I recieved (quickly) from OCUK. Seems to be fine and does what it says on the tin. The card is quiet at the fan's duty cycle (40%) but it gets pretty hot without the fa cranking up too much to counter it - expect to see nearly 90 degrees after a gaming session, but that's apparently ok. If you want less heat you can always use Rivatuner to set the fan at boot on 60% for a bit more sound. Other than that things seem good - high frame rates on everything I've chucked at it, and Total War played without the card blowing up :)

Card that goes pop

Received this card today as I couldn't wait for the 295 stocks to come in worldwide. Ran fine for about an hour while I ran some benchmarks. Reasonably impressed with performance. Then tried some Medieval 2: TW with all the settings on high, and after about 15 mins the screen went blank, the machine shut down and there was a loud 'pop' followed by a smell of burning. Card dud. Waiting for an RMA from OCUK.
