700GVM 700W 80 Plus Bronze Modular Power SupplyThe Korean manufacturer Zalman not only produces the well-known coolers and housings, but also modern power supplies. As with many other products, the brand combines high quality workmanship, fair prices and exceptional looks. The GVM series is clearly aimed at PC gamers who value a quiet fan. Low volume and high reliability through high-quality components to convince PC players. Three models cover the power ranges 500, 600 and 700 watts.
Under the hood is high-quality technology: Zalman sets with the components on quality. Thus, only long-lasting 105-degree models of Japanese brands are used as electrolytic capacitors. For the fan bearing, the manufacturer relies on an enclosed fluid bearing (FDB). This design is currently the best combination of longevity and minimal noise. The efficiency meets the requirements of 80 Plus Bronze and therefore reaches at least 85 percent at medium load. With around 90 percent of the nominal power on the important + 12-volt line today, the Zalman GVM is perfect for current computers. Zalman GVM power supplies are therefore quiet, powerful and reliable.
In order to make use of this capability also in real systems Zalman installed sufficient connections: Beside the obligatory 20 + 4-Pin (50 centimeter cable length) for the motherboard and the 4 + 4-Pin-CPU connection (65 cm) brings the inexpensive Zalman power supply in the 700-watt version full suitability for SLI and Crossfire: Four 6 + 2-pin PCIe plugs supply up to two high-end graphics cards. For the other components, six SATA, four 4-pin Molex and a floppy connector are provided. The Zalman GVM can therefore distinguish itself by its appearance, high-quality technology and the many long connections from the competition.
