Superb cooler!

My computer has a phenom II 955@ 3.8 stock voltage, in coolermaster HAF 932.

With stock cooler i was 37 c idle, >50 stress testing

now this cooler with akasa apache 120mm fan at 25 c idle, more that 10 c drop

this cooler is amazing for the money hoping to get another apache fan soon

great service as always! :)

Fanless!

My system configuration is that I have a Quad Core Phenom II CPU with separate graphics card and a 500W Stronger Scythe Power Supply (with its own silent 120mm fan) in a midi tower.
I have a 120mm casefan exhausting air out of the case and this is positioned about 4 cm from the CPU heatsink. The heatsink is really tall and protrudes from the motherboard - almost as much as the PCI cards.

I have not added a fan to the heatsink yet but the temperature maintained is between 30 - 40 Celsius. If the temperature stays this low I may not add the a fan to the heatsink. Apart from the noise of the hard disk, my system is now silent!
The product is good quality and the heatsink itself is of a solid feel and heavy.
Installation was not too bad and it took me at least 30 minutes. Bolts attach the heatsink to the CPU and there is no struggling with a locking mechanism. Bewar that you do need to take the motherboard out as there is a plate that fits on the otherside.

Amazing

This heat sink is simply amazing. I have got two of them. One is cooling my overclocked AMD Phenom II, paired with the Akasa AK-FN058 Apache Black Super Silent 120mm Fan - 4 Pin PWM [AK-FN058]. Very noticeable reduction in heat compared with the AMD supplied heatsink and fan. And a massive reduction in noise.

The other one I have is fitted to a AMD low power CPU (45 watt TDP). That I have no fan on the heat sink. With an open case and full load the cpu gets hot, 60-70 deg C. It's a very small case (had to modify it) and is cooled with a pair of 40mm fans. With the case closed and full cpu load it's sub 50 deg C. Idle sub 40 deg C. I can blow on the heat sink and watch the cpu temp drop one degree.

This heat sink with a pair of 120mm fans on has to be a beast. It does need some airflow so not completely passive.

Only downside is it's a fiddly thing to fit.

Excellent Cooler

This is another top quality offering from Zalman. Easy to install, high quality build, you can run fans in push, pull or push/pull.
I have it on a 956BE with a Xigmateck XLF 120mm fan, CPU running stable at 4GHZ, stressed temps 56 deg C
The only very minor gripe is whilst fitting to a GA-790XTA you cannot use high profile memory sticks in push mode, the fan would foul on the dimm.
Otherwise top notch.

Fantastic

I'm running this with no fans on a core 2 quad Q9400 in an Antec Mini P180 with Arctic Silver Ceramique, idle temperature is 26 degrees and full load 56! unbelievable for the price, just make sure you have room because this thing is BIG

OMG this cooler kicks ass

I got this cooler for my new i5 750, as with the stock cooler I was seeing temps of 40 deg C idle...I wanted to o/c a bit - so I got this along with the Zalman 120mm fan - I am really amazed at this cooler, it is frikken awesome...not only did I get low 20C idle before I o/c - but now I get 40C idle with a 35% o/c... running at 180x21. Max temps I have seen under P95 is 71C - which is within spec and very nice considering I'm o/c 1Ghz! =)
Looks awesome, is easy to fit - comes with Zalman thermal grease which is also excellent...
The noise level out of my PC is acceptable, and is a lot quieter than my previous rig, which was using a Ruby Orb, which was an excellent cooler - but this is in another league!
