CNPS10X-Quiet CPU Cooler (754/939/940/AM2/AM2+/AM3/775/1155/1156/1366)

The heatsink is optimized for high performance during quiet operation, incorporating a switching noise eliminated high capacity 120mm fan for intensified cooling performance and minimized noise. Optimally designed aluminum fins disperse heat away from the CPU via 5 heatpipes, while the high capacity 120mm fan quickly cools the heatsink for stable operation of high performance CPUs.

AM3 problems

Great looking cooler which appears well built however this model doesnt come with the backplate for the am3 motherboards. This means you have to mount it with the spring clip and it will end up facing up or down and it will hit my ram on my crossfire V so I cant fit it. All it needs is the same fitting kit the other models have and it would fit fine and be awesome no doubt! It will have to go back now

Zalman cooler

Great cooler, phenom II 955 on asus crosshair formula 3

idle 31 have not seen it go above 34 yet but only played css for 20mins.

i can only say that the guy fitting it to am3 above has tried to fit it using the socket 939 clip instead of the backplate for am3 boards this would explain the fact that he can only fit it facing upwards.

as using the back plate mine is facing to the rear of the case.
although mine is the performa not the quiet but they are effectivly the same just though i would post here to say that it does fit on an am3 socket facing the rear if used with the am3 backplate

Very Quiet Cooling!

Gave this 4 stars as was very awkward to fit along side my g-skills ddr3!

fiddly job if you have raised heat sinks on your ram as the fan does not screw on!
You can see in the second pic there there is a little, thing retaining clip from the top left of the fan. would have been nice to see a stronger clip.

Incredibly quiet cooler keeps my i5 very cool under load.

10/10 for effectiveness
10/10 for noise
6/10 for installation
9/10 for price!

overall brilliant cooler, but make sure you have a deep case! this thing is quite tall!!!

looks good, performs well...but its a tad loud...

Iv never installed a cooler before and the instructions where VERY easy to read and understand. For the excellent performance, nice packaging and good/well writen instructions. All that gets a 5. I might change the fan on it when i get a new motherboard.

I haven't actually used this cooler yet because it's not usable with my board and case (Asus M4A785TD-V Evo board, Antec Sonata Elite case.)

Well, that's not strictly true: I *could* mount it, but because of the orientation of the AM3 socket clip, it can only be mounted to blow air up or down -- you can't have it with the fan blowing towards the back of the case which would be the usual setup. Depending on the arrangement of your case fans, this could severely mess up the airflow. In my case, this means the cooler would be blowing warm air into the PSU fan which probably isn't a great idea.

It's a lovely looking piece of kit, make no mistake, and I'm sure if could orient it differently, it would have superb cooling -- but it's just a door stop at the moment until I can send it back.

Bottom line: check that the orientation will work for your setup.

Quality cooling

Brilliant cooling, got my i5 750 At 4.2GHz idles at 38c and 51c under load. Antec 1200 Case.

20 x 210 Mhz Volt: 1.4V.

Beast of a thing

Had this a while now and i love it. Iv changed the fan because i wanted it to be better airflow. The stock fan is VERY quiet on max compared to the others iv heard. But i dont think it gives enough airflow to do the heatsink any justice. Its quite big but very light. I ran it without the fan and got decent temps! I recommend this to all gamers and minor overclockers. my i5 is stable at 3.5ghz with min temp of 4C per core and 45C per core. Dont buy the other version of this. Theres no difference in temps. buy this and save
