An ageing design but not without its charm and excellent expandability for a case this size.

The Z11 Neo is a now 5 year old iteration of a 7 year old case design, it harks back to a time when we were all getting excited about 3rd gen Ivy Bridge CPUs and salavating over the GTX 690.
Yet here we are in 2020 and the Z11 series are still with us, perhaps sue to some enduring charm?
Asthetically the Z11s are very much a love or hate affair, if you're the type of person that likes the clean simple look of a tempered glass cube then there's probably nothing here for you.
The Z11 Neo looks like it means business, it's a very imposing design and looks considerably more premium than it actually is, which is not to say it feels cheap and nasty, it's certainly a very solid case.

Expansion wise you’ll be in for a pleasant surprise, the Z11 is a smaller case than it appears in pictures but comfortably accommodates standard ATX boards, good sized PSUs and a staggering SIX 3.5/2.5 bays at the front (sleds included with attachments for either) THREE more 5.25/3.5/2.5 bays above that with one exposed for an ODD or other expansion.
It’s worth noting that ALL these bays can be removed providing an open front which can easily accommodate a radiator or simply leave the front more open for increased airflow.
There’s also a bracket for a 3.5” SSD on the rear of the motherboard tray!

This brings us on to cooling, and oh boy does the Z11 have some cooling options.
As well as the low RPM intake fans built in to the side panels, the Z11 can accommodate two 120mm or 140mm fans in the top panel, two 120mm or 140mm fans in the front, one 120mm fan in the rear and another 120mm fan in the bottom of the case (dust filters are included).
Alternatively with its conventional drive cages removed the Z11 can accommodate a dual water cooling radiator in both the front AND top of the case without encroaching over the motherboard whatsoever.

So what are the Z11 Neo’s downsides? Well apart from the rather ageing aesthetics, which some like myself rather like, for this price point there isn’t much to complain about…
Cable management is decent if not quite up to the standard of some modern cases, clearance behind the motherboard can get a little tight, however with it’s smaller smoked window (which looks really nice with the right lighting inside) you can still get a pretty clean look to your build.
The 3 included 120mm fans (one back, one front, one top) are okay but I wasn’t a fan of the LEDs and feel this case looks a lot cleaner with non-LED fans in the front and top, they’re also not as quiet as they could be.
The breakaway disposable rear expansion slot covers are a shame but par for the course on a case of this price point, you do get one screw in slot cover included.
Lastly the slide down front cover for the 5.25 ODD bay feels horribly cheap and really lets the rest of the case down.

All in all if you like the look of it, the Z11 Neo is still a great case which punches well above its weight, an absolute bargain at the price you can pick this up for today.
