Decent performing graphics card that's well built
by JasonPerformance is as to be expected from a 4070 but Asus has added some useful features to it. One of which is the option to choose between performance or quiet mode. In performance mode, the fans try their best to keep the card under 70 degrees C, whereas quiet mode will be more conservative with fan speed. Performance mode can somewhat be loud especially with heavier GPU loads, so I ended up setting mine on quiet mode. This card can also automatically turn off the fans when you're not gaming so it further helps with lowering the overall noise from the card. But one feature that is good for longevity but worse for noise is their choice of ball bearing fans. Ball bearing fans last longer than sleeved bearing fans but they have a slight scratchy noise when running at low speed. Unfortunately one of the fans on my card was more noisy than the other so it was somewhat audible. Would be nice if Asus used fluid dynamic bearings which apparently have the best durability and low noise performance. Another issue I found with the card was coil whine when under load. It's a slight buzzing sound that's noticeable when you don't have fans or music to drown out the sound. So it's one of the main downsides to this card if you're after a more quiet PC. But aside from the slight noise issues, the build quality looks to be good with its aluminium backplate for PCB thermals and rigidity. The card is also easy to power with just using a single 8 pin PCIe cable. Thermals were also well maintained when gaming. Overall a good 4070 graphics card.
