Clash of Chefs VR

When it comes to certain gaming sessions, you can’t beat a bit of hilarious chaos. My go-to game for that mood is Overcooked, so seeing a virtual reality chef game has me all kinds of hyped. Clash of Chefs VR, from Flat Hill Games, dropped yesterday, on Steam and Viveport. It is a VR cooking game where you have to prepare the tastiest meals faster than your opponents. All while keeping your hungry customers satisfied. Try to reach the top of the leaderboard with skill alone, or with some tasty sabotage. However you play, Overclockers UK has a wide range of VR gaming accessories to help you be the best, like no one ever was.

Order Up!

Clash of Chefs VR can be played single-player through a variety of challenging levels, or as a multiplayer battle with friends, either online or asynchronous. Straight off the bat, this game is giving you great options for gameplay. You play as a chef through a range of restaurants, making burgers, sushi, and everything between. You have to perfect a whole ruck of recipes! Making gameplay more comfortable, the countertops can be adjusted to match your height. If only real kitchens were like that.

One thing that certainly has me on the fence about VR, is motion sickness. (But then, I can’t watch Cloverfield without feeling nauseous.) Flat Hill Games boasts that this is not an issue with Clash of Chefs VR. I guess you’ll be feeling too hungry, putting all this food together that you can’t eat.

Another nifty feature, there is the capacity for customising waiters. Put this with the many hours of fun to be had, competing against friends, it’s time to sharpen up those cooking skills. Oh yes, and make sure you are fully equipped to dominate the virtual kitchen!

Better Than Reality

VR is the latest forefront in gaming. Whilst not an entirely new concept, it’s been around since the 90s, but it’s only in recent years that it has become the stuff of sci-fi dreams. Thanks to leaps and bounds in technology, we can fully immerse ourselves into incredible games designed for the platform. Such as Clash of Chefs VR.

Here at Overclockers UK, we stock VR gaming accessories from HTC Vive. Equip yourself with headsets, touch controllers, and complete bundles – everything you need to achieve the best VR gaming.

Of course, you will also need to make sure your gaming PC is VR ready and up to the task. Naturally, we have a comprehensive range of gaming PCs and laptops which fit the bill. Right now, I am going to use the OcUK Gaming Harrier PC as a baseline for what you need to have installed to play Clash of Chefs VR and more.

Vive la VR!

First, let’s look into HTC Vive. Established in 2011, they have a number of series for their headset and VR tech. At Overclockers UK, we stock their Cosmos and Pro series. The Pro series is designed to keep up with even the most demanding VR gaming, whilst the Cosmos models are more modular.

As you know, we love to tier things. Here are three HTC headsets and their specs.

Gaming-Tier

HTC VIVE Cosmos Elite VR Headset

Cosmos Elite

  • Dual 3.4″ diagonal screens
  • 1440 x 1700 pixel per eye resolution
  • 90Hz refresh rate
  • 110-degrees field of view
  • Stereo audio
  • Integrated microphone
  • G-sensor and flip-up visor

With the Cosmos Elite, you can enjoy high precision within your VR world. The SteamVR™ Tracking and controllers grant you the freedom to navigate with quick and smooth actions, all with great accuracy. Its pixel resolution is 88% higher than the original Cosmos headset, plus features a one-of-a-kind flip-up design. You can easily return to the real world – no red pills involved.

If you thought 4K resolution was phenomenal, get ready for 5K resolution – because the Pro 2 has it. Offering up an absolute feast for your eyes, this operates on a 120-degree field of vision, which aligns pretty much with your natural scope. You’ll be able to see those waiters coming as if you were actually there. Plus, with a 120Hz refresh rate, you can enjoy smooth gaming the way it was intended.

Designed with comfort in mind, you can enjoy long VR gaming sessions to perfect those cooking skills, plus it fits a wide range of head sizes and vision types. Oh yes, you can keep your glasses on with this headset.

All of these headsets, and more from the range, are brilliant for VR gaming. Every single one is going to immerse you into the Clash of Chefs VR world, letting you focus on the meal before you. That “none pizza with left beef” isn’t going to make itself!
