Hi guys.

After 15 years of using only laptops, I would like to finally build a PC. My budget is £2200 + any 4k 144hz+ 1ms+ monitor. I will be using it for programming, gaming (CS:GO, Rocket League, Cyberpunk 2077, RDR2, GTAV, Assassin's Creed Valhalla etc), maybe some photo and video editing (Photoshop, After Effects), begineer music production (Fl Studio, Ableton). Would be great to experience Ray Tracing, 4k, 144hz, Ultra settings. Not everything at the same time of course but I want to be able to use some of those features when I want. . I like to find a new hobby very often so the PC should be great for everything. I have built this PC:

I found this monitor as well - LG UltraGear 27GN950

Will I be able to take full advantage of this monitor?
Do you recommend any other 4k 144hz+ 1ms+ monitors up to £800?

Share your thoughts, please.

Cheers,
Patryk

Welcome aboard.

First of all remove that link completely.
Forum rules forbid naming/linking OcUK's competitors.

For monitor we have to know do you prefer darker room or have normal room illumination?
That affects what LCD type is the best.
In general IPS is the best, but it doesn't do well in darker environment.
That's where VA is the strongest with its way highest contrast of LCDs.
(though at the expense of its own problems in dark shades both in response times and viewing angles)

But good 4K gaming monitor choise is anyway very limited at the moment, with that LG being best by mile.
Though if you have more room Viewsonic is advertised to release 32" model in first quarter. (price rumoured to be 1000 euros)

As for PC that Thermaltake case doesn't look good for cooling with mostly closed front.
(that glass is you know really bad for letting air through)

Intel simply doesn't have anything going for themselves anymore...
Unless you're wanting electric heater, for which their double the TDP to get real max power draw CPUs are good.
12 core Ryzen 5900X is at least equal in anything and superior in fully multihreaded workloads.
While consuming lot less power at max.

If needing Wifi MSI X570 Tomahawk is superb motherboard.
And if not needing it Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite would laugh at any AM4 CPU.
Though if you're not looking into eventually adding many NVMe drives into PCIe slots, B550 boards would give basically everything same for some amount less.

For memory 3600MHz is the choise for Ryzen

Talking of drives just forget Samsung drives.
Those are all more or less horribly brand overpriced money grabs!
£140 gives good 1TB NVMe drive.
Seagate Barracuda 510 1TB PCIe NVMe M.2 Solid State Drive RV.1 (ZP1000CM3A001)= £139.99
In fact by looking around you could find 2TB Adata SX8200 Pro for the price of those two Samsungs!

In graphics card Nvidia is skimping in memory despite of high brand prices:
New Xbox has more memory intended for GPU usage than that RTX 3070 with its last gen 8GB!
While AMD's new cards have definitely time lasting 16GB...

If you're after minimal hassle/worry free PC, forget those fashion/marketing pee pipe coolers.
Those usual slim radiators can't even match high end heatpipe coolers in continuous cooling per noise!
And now in discount Alpenfohn Brocken 3 would do really nicely for AMD's TDP.
Alpenfohn Brocken 3 CPU Cooler - 140mm= £29.99

Also that mid level 7 year warranty PSU is substandard for the budget.
And really undersized for the power hogginess of Intel.
For AMD CPU 650W would be closer to size, but would anyway really take 750W.
Phanteks AMP, SuperFlower Leadex etc are more fitting choises.

If you're going to use speakers there's zero need for any separate sound card, unless motherboard's integrated one is EMI magnet.
Though for gaming stereo speakers have lousy immersion and headphones+HRTF would give vastly better immersion.
(assuming your head shape is close to average)
And for headphone gaming Sound BlasterX G6 Creative sells for £70 at B-stock is bang per buck choise.
And as USB sound card it could be used with laptops, if you ever feel the need.
