A beloved remake of an arcade rail-shooter was released on April 28th this year: House of the Dead.

Classic Arcade Action:
First released in 1997, House of the Dead players choose to be either Thomas Rogan or G, both members of a special government unit, AMS.
A recent disaster at the Curien Mansion has unleashed a horde of zombies and mutants. Players must shoot down and destroy this unsuccessful experiment and save the scientists responsible.
The gameplay style is just as it was in 1997, aim and shoot. You even score additional points for each enemy you kill and every successful headshot.
The remake now features an expansive armoury with a plethora of different weapons you can unlock, a brand new game mode in which you must face an unstoppable horde of the undead, and the chance to experience multiple endings, some of which you may have never seen before.
Does the House of the Dead: Remake have a multiplayer mode?
Yes!
You can team with one other friend in the local multiplayer mode and relive this classic retro horror shooter.
Is House of the Dead Remake: a PC Exclusive?
