Hi All,

I have a budget for a PC between 4.5k-5.5k all i will use it for is gaming FPS / MMORPG.

I will most likley aim for a high end 1440p Monitor instead of a 4k one (not included in budget) but would like recommendations for this aswell!

Do you think i should get a liquid looped PC like the expensive pre built ones on overclockers website? the toxic etc

Looking for all your opinions or custom recommendations thank you.

That is a hefty budget!

Monitor: 144hz+ 1440p IPS ultra wide

CPU: i9 10900k, as you're only using it for gaming

GPU: 2080 Ti, could even chuck two in but not really worth it, especially with new gen of cards round the corner

Wouldn't go for custom loop water-cooling unless you are doing it yourself as I don't think maintenance is easy with them if you don't know what you're doing

if you can i'd hold off for a few more months, amd's 4th gen ryzen is on the horizon and will likely take the gaming crown from Intel as the best gaming cpu, plus when that happens it wont be far off from next gen gpu details too, basically if you can hold off till the end of the year, you'll likely be able to build one hell of a monster setup which would crush 1440p and probably play 4k stuff with ease too.

Welcome to the forum.

It is a bit of a bad time to be buying as new gpu's from Nvidia/AMD should be out around Sept/Oct and then there is Ryzen 4000 which is due out later this year. Of course with a budget this big you could still swap things out later on if you want to buy something straight away.

So if you want the fastest cpu/gpu and don't care about price/performance then the i9 10900K and 2080 ti are the best option for that. A Ryzen build would save you a bit of money, but would be a bit behind at 1440p or 3440 x 1440 with a 2080 ti. That might change when Ryzen 4000 comes out.

If it was me I would probably go with a 3700X and a 5700XT and then just upgrade later on to a 4900X and 3080 ti.

I stuck a 3440 x 1440 monitor into both builds, but there might be better options.

Intel option.

AMD option. Only difference is the cpu and board.

The majority of Freesync monitors now work fine with Nvidia gpu's.

There is also the LG 34GK950F-B curved widescreen Freesync monitor, but it isn't sold on here.

Or if you just want a regular 27" 1440p Freesync then the Gigabyte Aorus is a good shout.

Maybe check out a few reviews online before deciding on anything, as you are spending a lot of cash.
