Five Games We’re Loving on The Steam Deck

Valve’s Steam Deck is the goat of portable gaming! Whether you’re travelling to work, school, or just out and about, the Deck is the best way to game on the go. In this article, we’re breaking down some games we absolutely love on the Steam Deck right now.

At Computex 2024, a whole host of new and updated handhelds were on display, but for the moment, the Steam Deck is still number one in our eyes. From Indie to AAA titles, a seemingly endless number of games work great on the Deck!

What Does Steam Deck Verified Mean?

Despite the literal thousands of Steam Deck Verified games, there are even more without this certification. But can you still play them on the Deck? For most games, yes! However, you might run into some issues with anti-cheat software compatibility and controls not optimised for the handheld.

Cyberpunk 2077

Last year, CD Project Red announced that its fan favourite, Cyberpunk 2077, had been verified for Steam Deck compatibility. Essentially, this verification means the game has passed all compatibility checks and offers a great experience on the Deck.

Released in 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 is still one of Steam’s best open-world RPG games. What’s more, it runs great on the Deck!

Hades II

Finally, in early access and already one of the best games of 2024, Hades II is not only Steam Deck Verified but also is also incredibly fun on the handheld. Battle beyond the Underworld using dark sorcery to take on the Titan of Time, in this sequel to award-winning rouge-like dungeon crawler Hades.

The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series

Switching things up a little now to an absolute classic series that originally launched back in 2012. The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series contains all 4 Seasons, 400 Days, and The Walking Dead: Michonne, which amounts to over 50 hours of gameplay across 23 episodes. Highly stylised, and still one of if not the best Walking Dead game series, you’ll want to grab this one.
