Who Will Be Last Player Standing? Great Battle Royales for the Weekend

The weekend has rolled back around, and it’s the perfect time for some multiplayer madness. This time it’s of the Battle Royale variety this time! 

We’ve already looked at MMORPGs, and now our multiplayer gaming is ready for another genre. Battle Royales are a firm favourite at Overclockers UK. A test of skill and mettle, they may put your friendships through their paces, but they’re always great fun. Therefore, we had a quick whip round the office to find out everyone’s favourite Battle Royale, perfect fodder for this weekend’s gaming. 

Fortnite

Since its release back in 2017, Fortnite has become a fast favourite. We especially love the addition of Geralt! Drop into a 100-player battlefield and try to be the last one standing. You’ll need to loot, craft, and scavenge your weapons and resources, whilst engaging in shootouts. Oh, and the safe area of the map keeps shrinking. So, you can’t avoid the conflict forever. The battle ends when one player (or team!) is left standing. 

With your friends, you can choose to go toe-to-toe and see who’s got what it takes. Alternatively, you can team up in pairs, trios, or as a four, and stay fighting until the bitter end as a squad.

You and your squad will work together to be the last team standing. Fight in teams of two or three in either the Battle Royale or Arenas game modes. Battle Royale pits twenty trios or thirty duos against each other, on an island with an ever-shrinking play area. You need to find your weapons and work quickly to be the last team standing. In Arenas, three-person squads go head-to-head in 3v3 deathmatches over a series of rounds, to collect points. The winning team will need at least three points and be two points ahead of their foes. So, how you play will depend on how big your squad is!
