Hi just received my Msi gaming x trio 3070 from another retailer, it appears brand new still had plastic on fans etc and works perfectly fine, but the warranty screw on the backplate appears to have had a screwdriver pushed in or I maybe wrong? Could anyone confirm if they have an Msi gpu with the same? thanks

I ordered an RTX 3070 FE earlier today and I wondered if anyone here has successfully flashed it to an AIB BIOS? And if so, did this result in a higher power limit?

Also, is this likely to have much impact on 3D performance in games?

I don’t think you can flash the FEs unfortunately, which is a bit annoying as mine is always power limited. I just maxed the Afterburner power limit to 109% and along with an overclock it gave me around a 7% bump in performance.

Cheers @Gibbo @ScottiB and all the behind the scenes staff shifting those orders. My 3070 is going into a DPD van. Originally thought ordering an ASUS with no bells and whistles extra would have better chances against all the people wanting RGB etc. Then learned of ASUS issues. So my estimates moved from maaaaybe January if very lucky and realistically maybe nearer March. So have been pretty fortunate in holding my queue place and to receive an OC in place of the NON OC model. Thankyou very much. :D

Got my 3070 gaming x trio and as per my post the factory seal is pierced, waiting for msi to get back to retailler regarding my warranty status, other than that its an amazing card i swapped out an evga 2080ti ftw3 ultra for this for the hdmi 2.1 features for my oled, bit of a side grade i know but to me its an upgrade in noise and temps, about 10-8 degrees cooler and no noise from fans im more than happy, fps is vurtually the same, will be putting my 2080ti up for sale once my warranty status is confirmed as per my previous post, this thing boosts over 2000mhz out of the box, my 2080ti sits at about 1920mhz lol

I have WC for silence, 3 x 240mm rads with slow fans.
Card is sort of in and working, loop OK but need some different fittings as the plumbing is rough.
The main issue is the 'outlet' points straight at the memory with only a 27mm gap between the face of the card and the DIMM.

Power limit is 350W, +59% which should be interesting.

The card is physically the same as the the 3070 Founders, including the 9 phase VRM.... the photos all show 10 phase but it does have the same phase missing as the founders.

If anyone feels adventurous, the BIOS is on Techspot.

I have cut and pasted the 3070 Tier list based on PCB and VRM quality below. The reviewer has tiered them differently based on different criteria, by all means give the guy a click, it was a lot of work for him to do. I always go on PCB+VRM quality on the basis that i don't use air cooling.

I just stumbled across a 3070 Aorus Master in stock and ordered it. (It was from a legit uk retailer, no 3rd party scalpers involved) I was wondering if I'd been silly but this is reassuring that it's at least a decent spec. Thanks for posting the vid link, I'll digest it this evening.

Any 3070-Aorus Master owners
1) does it need any external support/arm etc? If so any recommendations?
2) what is a sensible price to have paid for this? can anyone confirm what RRP was/is? I don't think I've been fleeced but nice to confirm while I'm still in the return window.

non-etailer free market rate for that card is around £650 excluding VAT and shipping, £715 all-in.

etailer rate seems to be approx the same all-in but you get to keep the warranty.

I can't believe it but that is the going rate atm.

thanks I'm in the right ballpark then. What was it originally or should I not ask?

It's very difficult to know for sure without knowing someone on the inside at Gigabyte but based on my knowledge I would say approx £585inc. as its towards the top of the tier 2 cards and the approx market premium is 35% over the base price excluding VAT and delivery.

If it's the short 2 fan version I know someone who is looking for one and can put you both in touch should you want a stop-gap card while you source something better. I imagine they'd be happy to wait a week or two to get a new(used) card from what they said in their post.

whaaaat really? Forks and knives that is a big increase. Did it ever sell for that? I've gone from slightly smug to miffed in a heartbeat.

Edit: ok a quick check on a tracker site (are tracker sites like ok to link to? I don't want to fall foul of the rules) shows that on release day 5th Nov it was £600. Disappeared in a flash. Next time it appears from the store itself is Nov 17th at £800, then £900 Dec 1st, then £800 on the rest of its in-stock appearances in Dec 27th, 30st, Jan 13th, 15th, 30th. It's unclear if those in-stock from the store itself. There is another line of 3rd party scalper and it is all over the shop and well above £1k as you'd expect for a profiteering greedster.

It's the Three fan version, not had a dpd despatch email yet but not showing as cancelled either, will keep it if it comes.

The founders is £480 delivered so a high tier aftermarket card with custom VRM and a big cooler would easily be touching £600 in a normal market.

There will be a huge dump of cards mid year when mining difficulty increases to the point miners are getting < £10 per month profit.

If you're keeping the card a couple of years, not an issue. If you are planning to sell in the summer and not replace with a discounted 3080 then you may take a 40-50% hit.

I tend to keep them for a while so long as they're quiet enough, hence I usually go for the higher end as the VRMs tend to be better cooled, and the temps lower, fans quieter etc. Not always, but as a trend... I'm after a low noise system so would need to be choosy about anything with gddr6x in it given the heat+fan implications. If anything I'd try and switch to the 16GB quiet of the Sapphire 6800 nitro for better performance, more buffer and less noise but those are hen's teeth right now (and I still can't quite trust AMD's driver woes are behind them). If I can find a 3060ti FE then I might get that instead but if you'd said to me in July hey you can have 2080ti performance for <£700 I'd have laughed at you!
