Such a good card I had the 3070 version and it would sit a 50-55c hard gaming

Wish I had my 3070 TUF temps back.
This bad boy hit 74c while playing an hour of Cyberpunk 2077.
If you need a 400w room heater for those cold winter nights then this is the card for you lol.

[EDIT]

Dropping and flattening the top of the boost curve out to 1905Mhz and under volting to 0.963mv has decreased the temps nicely back into the mid sixties.
Cyberpunk plays at a solid and constant 1905Mhz boost @ 66c with next to no fan noise.
Sure I could push higher but I don't see the point as the framerate is already way past butter smooth, so it's like 'meh why try harder'.
Just goes to show that these factory applied overclocks can be a little too aggressive out-of-the-box though, this card was literally cooking it's self and outputting loads of heat into the case by default.

Did you get the card from OcUk?

Nay.

i have got mine replaced my evga 2080ti i like the look of the FE fan/heatsink but its running louder and warmer than my evga 2080ti ( 2080ti was 60 ish in warzone 3080ti is is around 70) and cyberpunk runs a lot better, and one thing that struck me was i was expecting to give the 2080ti a major dust down yet there was no dust on anyone the fan blades or heat sink

Got my Gainward Phoenix on Thursday. Out with the old workhorse eVGA 780 3gb, in with the new 3080ti 12gb. Little bit disappointed the Geforce RTX wording doesn't light up, I thought it did but otherwise happy.

Also bought a Gigabyte G34WQC 1440p 144hz. Still not sure I have it set up right as I'm getting "only" 100fps average on RDR2 max settings @ 3440 x 1440p.

@chemb sorry to go off topic a bit here..

I get my 3080ti Tuesday, I have a 6/12 cpu and was wondering how your gpu pairs with your 8700k?

as I wasn’t sure if I needed to upgrade the cpu to take advantage of the 3080 power??

Works fine for me. I don't claim to fully know how to tweak everything to the max or physically test for bottlenecking but on an online bottleneck calculator it says for 1440p (and caveat being there was no 3080ti to select only a 3080)

Average bottleneck percentage: 1.35% (CPU bottleneck)
*This result is based on average CPU and GPU usage from different programs and games. It changes based on operating system, background processes activity and targeted applications. This result is not universal and changes based on differences in hardware and software enviroments. Please do not use this calculator primary as decision maker than as helping tool to understand performance correlations between different components.

Graphic card and processor will work great together on 1440p resolution.
Intel Core i7-8700K (Clock speed at 100%) with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (Clock speed at 100%) x1 will produce only 4.92% of CPU bottleneck on 1440p resolution.

Just had mine delivered, a Gainward Phoenix :D. It looks to be the same as the PNY XLR8 Revel card.

Just ordered a 3080 Ti GameRock OC. The recommended PSU wattage is 850W. Do you guys reckon i'm fine with the Corsair RMx 650W gold?
Try it.
Worst that should happen with a quality unit is that it shutdown due to OCP kicking in.

Hit the system with a heavy CPU & GPU load at the same time to simulate worst case, and you will know soon enough.

The card can use almost 400 Watts. So if you run it at stock then no. You want a good 850w PSU as a minimum if you want a stable system and you have not said what the rest of your system specifications are.

400w tdp that's without the spikes. They also see it using 437w at max load.

Palit even state you need a 850w psu in their specs for the card you have:-
