Our favourite time of the week is here: the weekend! Aka a two-day-straight gaming session with the squad. This weekend, we’re feeling brawlers.
After a stressful week at work, sometimes there’s nothing to it but to blow off some steam with controlled combat. Or rather, combat you control with a mouse and keyboard (or console controller if that’s your thing). We’ve put together a list of great brawlers, for you and your mates to play this weekend. Whether you conduct a tournament of skill or simply play “winner stays on”, there are brawlers here for everyone.
Tekken 7
Starting with a classic franchise, we have Tekken 7. The eighth instalment is on the way at some point in 2023, so it’s the perfect time to dust off those combo moves and practise your fighting skills. Tekken 7 is powered by Unreal Engine 4, and features spectacularly explosive graphics – a far cry from summers spent playing Tekken 3 on PS1! There is a stunning story-driven campaign to complete, as well as classic PvP duels to conduct.
Of course, we’re all here to unleash ultimate moves on our friends. You can play PvP online, with or without the old-school split screen. There’s even full controller support for you (fellow) button mashers out there!

Fight Crab
We all know I am not one to shy away from a bit of gaming chaos, which is why the next suggestion is Fight Crab. There are forty-eight weapons to master, eleven battle stages to explore, and twenty-three different types of crab to play as. I wonder if any are references to Mr. Krabs.
Your duels can be one vs one or two vs two battles, either as split or shared screens. If you get tired of dominating in PvP gameplay, you can even play the campaign co-op. But who’s getting tired of flipping their opponent to win with claws, guns, swords, and jet engines?

Back to a classic brawlers franchise, we have Mortal Kombat 11. If you need a bit of blood and gore in your friendly fire, (and to yell FINISH THEM over your headset), then you’ve come to the right place. After the recent film and the internet being rife with rumours of an MK12 release this year, we are ready to relive the brutal battles and explosive combat. There are thirty-seven different fighters to choose from, all with different fighting styles and move sets to explore.
