Btw any reason why you are blowing air up from the bottom of the case and down from the top of the case - seems slightly counter intuitive!

Well initially i didnt want the heat going through the CPU radiator. Plus it creates positive pressure which then goes out the side fans So there is always fresh cool air going to both CPU and GPU. Also those side fans are not that nice looking when reversed. Temps are pretty low so im guessing it doesnt really matter that much and now im to lazy to change it.

If it's working fine then there's no need to change it I guess. Is that gpu really 4 slots wide?

Got a new corsair PSU on route before i install as I don't really trust this older unit

The clear plastic support bracket with the palit is a nice touch considering how chunky these 30 series are

Said I'd come back and show the strix oc this week when it finally came

! Its amazing. It's also massive compared to the palit gamingpro 3080 I swapped out for it, and I thought that was big! The RGB looks amazing and will really suit my x73 and new o11 dynamic case and fan setup arriving this weekend

Im going to do a new build in a white case when I decide on what CPU I am going to use.

But for now the 3080 had to get shoehorned into the old rig with i7-4790k, so don't judge the cable management or how dirty and cluttered it is

The "non removable" HDD cage and some other bits of metal needed a little persuasion also lol

Playing watch dogs legion with RTX 3080 and i7 7820x @ 4ghz stock with 16gb 3200 cl14 ram I am getting 47 FPS in the internal benchmark in 4k with everything highest setting including ray tracing with dlss at quality setting in HDR (all tests run in HDR).

With DLSS on balanced it improves to 52 FPS.

On standard ultra preset no dlss or ray tracing I get 54fps. With DLSS on quality it creeps up to 67 FPS.
