I did see it about 10 minutes after @LtMatt listed it. I did mull it over but got side tracked by work. Just have to limp along with my 6800XT

I've been looking for a second card for a while. Focusing on either 3080 or 6800XT but a 6900XT Red Devil popped up on a competitor just as I was going to bed last night and I jumped on it for £1300.

With a bit more clarity this morning, I'm wondering whether the 6900XT is worth the money. It'll be going in a racing sim rig, driving 3x1440p monitors at high refresh rate with no DLSS or RT at the moment so seems like a good use case.

Also, recommended PSU figures seem higher than that of my 3090 despite a lower power limit on the 6900xt. Is it right that I should need an 850 as an absolute minimum? That sounds like I need to buy a 1000w ideally?

There are people with way more knowledge than i have but on the website for that card it states - Minimum System Power requirement (W) 900W
I have owned both a 3090 and a 6900XT and for me the AMD card has performed better in the games i play, Black ops cold war went from crashing all the time to never crashing as did a few other games, and at 1080p (my res) i get better consistent frame rates it seems.

Wow, so it is. I was looking at the reference version.

I presume that's calculated based on worst case with Intel. The real-world demands can't be so high with an AMD chip, surely?

Well my 6900XT arrived today, I can't believe quite how long it is - Longer than the 3090, certainly!

I set out on a mission to get two 3080FEs and ended up spending twice as much as I wanted on these two :rolleyes:

But at least I can stop jumping every time my phone goes off in case it's discord/twitter alert!

That will look awesome in your set up. Much nicer than the rather bland 3090. What until you see the devil logo and fins all lit up, truly a sight to behold!

Actually about to cry with joy...

I wanted a Sapphire Nitro card, but at several hundred bucks less (and actually in stock), I will shut up and accept my luck

Will post actual card pics when it (hopefully) arrives in a few days!

Haha, I 've probably used up all my luck for 2021 with this

still can't believe I've brought myself to spend >750 quid on a bloody GPU... back in the day I straight refused to pay more than 200 for anything :eek:

What do I do with my Vega 64? Gut says sell it asap while the crypto folk are still paying silly money for them, but tell me if that's misguided please!
