Managed to snag myself a founders edition which I have been attempting to buy for a couple of months now.

Having only ever been using AMD when it comes to graphics card I was initially shocked at how bad my games looked compared to the 5700 it replaced until I realised that Image Sharpening is a default setting on AMD (@ 70%) while its not enabled by default in Nvidia, as soon as I turned it on even at 50% things started to look good again. Though I have been experiencing some texture glitches/flickering in Call of Duty Warzone which I never experienced before but after restarting/new drivers etc they have seemed to go away for now and its most likely a game thing as loads of people tend to report it.

My main issue with it so far is how damn loud the coil whine/buzz is, even though the tone is FPS dependant the actual volume isn't and makes quite a noise even at 120-160 fps which is a shame. I'm hoping it quietens down so will give it a week or 2 before I bother starting a return but its by far the loudest thing in my system and easily audiable when playing audio via speakers at a low volume but this seems luck of the draw. It's a shame as the card seems to be a good sample in regards to overclocking/undervolting.

Morning all,
Where can I find a good breakdown of the AIB comparisons?
What are peoples thoughts here about the better AIB cards?

The ROG Strix seems decent but comes at a premium if I am not mistaken.

The general rule of thumb is that they are all pretty much the same when it comes to actual performance on air.

Unless your looking to do extreme overclocking or you want to water cool and you need a card with a water block available just buy whatever is available at a reasonable price (which is nothing currently).

This^^

These cards and AMD equivalent are so powerful you'd never 'feel' any difference when gaming on them. A measurable difference yes, real world difference between the AIB's and even the FE's this time round - all the same. If anything I'd go for length of warranty and maybe noise levels.

Well it’s also that the cards out of the box are already close to their maximum capacity in terms of both clock speed and power limit. GPU boost present in all cards does the rest.

Your effectively paying for flashy lights, ‘gamer’ branding and a card that runs slightly cooler at a similar noise level. That last point makes next to no difference to performance as the lower tiered cards have already have decent coolers on them.

There are other things like beefed up VRMs but they add little value outside of extreme overclocking because the cards are already hitting their power limit hard coded in the bios.

Noise levels is definitely a factor for me, lower would be nicer and good temps. Are they all similar in that regards?

Whilst the cards are usually measured in an open environment - cooling and acoustics will be at the mercy of the rest of your cooling, does your CPU exhaust into the case, do you have a small form factor case or a well ventilated big case? Many folk are undervolting these cards to produce less heat and thus fans spin slower. So mileage will vary and the way one AIB's cooling solution works may work well in one case set up but less so in another. Then you have coil whine if you are unlucky so acoustics are a bit of a lottery. These cards pull a lot of power = heat = noise, unless water cooled or AIO. HAd my 1080ti AIO cooled for 4 years and any air cooled card is noisy comparatively.

You'll have to google 3080 noise comparison or the like to see which ones are quietest.

Even then if you chose a desired card, likely you'll not find it for sale. It's a 'get what you can' at the moment - and it's tough.

Hey guys, first time poster, long time lurker. I've been signed up for like 7 different cards for months. Today, I recieved a Strix OC and it just so happens that I will be recieving a Suprim X on monday. I must say that I fancy the looks of the Suprim X more, but aside from that, which is the better card? In Sweden, the Strix OC is roughly 60 pounds more expensive than the Suprim X but the question is, is it 60 pounds better? ;) From the tests I've seen, they seem about even, but how about build quality, component quality etc?

Hey all,
Seems my 2080 Ti needs RMA'ing and the process is likely to take a while. I can't go without the pc so my best bet is to try and get a new card.

What's the waiting time on 3080s? I've a feeling that it will probably be longer than the time it takes to RMA my card.

Is stock drip fed and random or are there dates when cards are due and numbers are known?

Yes they are drop fed and dropped at random times. Best to sign up for a stock notifier like partalert, you have to buy within seconds of getting a notification.
