So you reckon the 6800/900 is better than the 3080/3090 ?

My 3090 and 6900xt once overclocked were almost dead level in timespy (FE 3090 vs AIB 6900xt)

The 3090 was better for Simracing titles but the 6900xt seemed a bit more stable and consistent on more challenging titles, albeit with lower peak fps.

I think they are equal unless you're interested in RT, multi-monitor gaming or gaming at higher resolutions. I'd ultimately be happy with either.

This will be the flat out fastest GPU money can buy, but you'll need a house deposit.
Be interesting to see what the driver reads up for default max clock on those cards.
Currently playing Far Cry New Dawn, the card is lapping it up. 2550/2650 @ 1050mv +15% (293w) 2150Mhz vram. Solid as a rock, junction is below 60c and edge hits a peak of mid 40's max.

Got a 6800XT (just waiting on everything else) for 1440 UW and the option of 4K (desktop monitor and TV downstairs respectively) Don't need/won't depend on RT/DLSS like many do, a lot of games I favour don't/won't have either any time soon.
I might've chosen a 3080 tbh if it weren't for concerns about that 10Gb lasting as long and the fact they price like a 6900XT or more only with way less availability. 3090's are even more of a joke atm.
I'm just gonna run my 6800XT (with 5800X) as long as I can then rethink in a few years when prices are better for more and (hopefully) the divide between red and green is closer and RT/DLSS from either is more widespread/better supported.

But I'm coming from 8750H/1070, 6700K/1070 (at 1080p/1080 UW respectively) never had better nor a higher resolution so honestly, it's all gravy drizzled bonus for me even if it is more expensive an upgrade than it might've been.

I actually replaced my 6900xt with a 3080 (at MSRP) in the end, but that was as much about mining and AMD Linux drivers forcing me to use an old kernel as it was anything else tbh.

There's certainly nothing to be disappointed about in a 6800xt or 6900xt.

To be honest I have been looking to fully complete my build for couple of months now and it got to the point where I just want to get this over and done with.

Not a fan of rainbow puke style RGB. I would love to set it to white just like AIO/RAM/fans but I don't have any spare 3-pin 5V RGB headers . Yeah and it does sag already. I shall use support bracket that came with card.

A little trick to help with the sag is either a screw or wedge something in to the top of the bracket that goes through the motherboard tray. (The fingers of the PCI plate) to push bracket down so the card lifts at the end. As in from behind the motherboard tray.

The little injection of colour with the white looks great!

Very happy with this purchase so far. I can only hope things will be a bit better (or cheaper I should say) next time round.

Welcome and on TROH.:)

Prices are bit mad tbh.

How the other half live (and by half I naturally mean the top 1%ers that can afford this type of nonsense).

Its unbelievable you only get 2 year warranty on these cards costing over 2 grand as well

Pathetic considering the price, plus cards with an aio after a few years start to lose fluid and the rads don't have a fill port to top them up. Seen some vids last year on fury x cards that were unusable due to the aio being too low on fluid.

Dunno why they don't include a refill port on the rad, would add pennies to the price and make them usable for much longer.

They would rather you buy a new card though.
