    How Much Ram Do I Need?

    We recommend 16GB of Corsair DDR4 or DDR5 memory for gaming. This amount is considered the sweet spot, with more than enough for the latest AAA games and room for the future. However, if you plan on streaming, editing video content, or using tools such as Photoshop, you’ll see a significant benefit from increasing your PC’s RAM to 32GB or more.

    What Is RAM?

    Random Access Memory, or RAM, is responsible for processing the data your CPU needs quick access to. Random access allows your PC's CPU to access any part of the memory directly rather than having to read information sequentially. This makes RAM the fastest memory in your PC, letting the CPU work at greater speed.

    Do I need DDR4 or DDR5 Corsair RAM?

    Whether you need DDR4 or DDR5 RAM depends on your CPU and motherboard’s compatibility. While some CPUs work with DDR4 or DDR5 RAM, motherboards will only work with one generation. To check compatibility, make sure you read your manufacturer's manual.
