DDR5 RDIMM RAM
Build a high-speed workstation or server that boasts incredible memory capacity, with DDR5 RDIMM RAM. A Registered Dual In-Line Memory Module (RDIMM) is a type of volatile memory designed to be used in conjunction with a professional grade CPU. This type of RAM boasts a register between the memory controller and DRAM, which helps to buffer the control signal between each. Thanks to this, RDIMM RAM is much more stable than standard UDIMM modules, allowing for higher capacities to be utilised. Additionally, as this memory utilises DDR5 technology, it boasts increased clock speeds and an on-die ECC to deliver faster processing performance and reduce errors in any workload.
Why use DDR5 RAM?
A computer built using DDR5 RAM will feature several advantages over DDR4 and previous generations. This memory delivers much faster clock speeds, with a base JEDEC speed of 4,800MT/s, which is on par with the highest overclocked speeds of DDR4 memory. Additionally, DDR5 boasts a quadruple increase in maximum memory capacity, rising from the 32GB per module for DDR4 to 128GB! Furthermore, a DDR5 RAM stick is much more energy efficient. The base voltage for each module is just 1.1V, meaning a server equipped with large amounts of RAM will utilise less power than an equivalent DDR4 computer. What’s more, the onboard PMIC means DDR5 RAM will better utilise any power, delivering more bits transferred per watt consumed.
