G-Sync Compatible FreeSync Monitors

G-Sync Compatible FreeSync Monitors

While all freesync monitors will now support G-Sync, these G-Sync certified FreeSync monitors work flawlessly with Nvidia G-Sync enabled graphics cards. This means whether you have a compatible Nvidia or AMD graphics card you can now be guaranteed a dynamic refresh rate and eliminate screen tearing, visual latency, stuttering, and input lag.

Uninterrupted Gaming Experience

As a gamer, it's important to have the smoothest display possible to ensure stellar graphics don't go underappreciated and, more importantly, to aid in an uninterrupted gaming experience. Graphics are at the very core of a great gaming experience, and there's nothing more frustrating than jarring images during an assault in Battlefield or a bout of lag during a team fight in Dota 2. At Overclockers UK we take gaming seriously, and cater for all budgets and requirements to help you find the exact setup that works for you—whatever your budget. To obtain that smooth-as-glass gaming experience, we have a wide array of FreeSync monitors from which to choose. In fact, whatever kind of display you're looking for, we have a large selection of monitors which will deliver exceptionally clear and crisp graphics.

Refresh Rates, Tearing and Input Lag

Many conventional monitors operate at a fixed refresh rate of either 60Hz, 120Hz or 144Hz. Depending on the game being run and your current specs, your frame rate fluctuates depending on how intensively your graphics card has to work. There are two choices gamers have in this situation, and two problems that can arise from them. Gamers can choose how the graphics card passes frames to the monitor by selecting either "VSync OFF" or "VSync ON". The problems that arise from these options are tearing and input lag. Tearing occurs when the GPU finishes rendering frames and sends them directly to the monitor, even if the monitor has not finished refreshing. Input lag happens when the GPU holds the image until the monitor is ready to display it, thus creating a lag in the imaging.

Enter AMD FreeSync Screens

FreeSync utilises adaptive synchronization technology that supports a dynamic refresh rate and eliminates screen tearing, visual latency, stuttering and input lag. At the heart of the any lag or tearing problem exists a communication issue between the GPU and monitor. FreeSync technology eliminates any choppiness by ensuring that the video display adapts to the framerate of the output device, instead of vice versa. This also allows for a refresh rate of up to 240Hz. Initially developed by AMD, the technology came about as a response to NVIDIA's G-Sync, which uses a PCB module (proprietary NVIDIA hardware) to control the refresh rate. FreeSync monitors, however, use software to control the refresh rate, keeping costs down. In fact, what's amazing about FreeSync is that it is basically "zero-cost" software that ensures smooth gameplay without the need for any proprietary hardware. The only requirements are a monitor that is compatible with DisplayPort Adaptive-Sync, a compatible AMD Radeon GPU with a DisplayPort connection, and a compatible AMD Catalyst graphics driver. At Overclockers UK you can find a large number of FreeSync monitors in a variety of sizes and resolutions, all of which are compatible with DisplayPort adaptive synchronization technology.
