Bring Audio Closer with Headphones
![]()
Headphones are simple, innovative audio devices. They are designed to fit on the users head and enhance your listening experience. With the user in mind, they effectively keep game/music sound in and background noise/chatter out. Utilising either an open or closed back design, Headphones generally contain two tweeters on a band, covered by soft cups that hug the ears to isolate the sound. This gives the user a very personal, highly intimate audio experience and are ideal If you’re looking for something a little more sophisticated than a gaming headset or a pair of AirPods. Whether you’re after a premium set of wired or wireless headphones - or even the latest bluetooth headphones, look no further.

Variety
Often, when it comes to deciding on which headphones to buy, a lot of it is down to personal needs and preferences: are you looking for a cleaner sound? A deeper bass? Added comfort? Syncable RGB with your gaming hardware? It’s highly likely that you’re after a combination of these. You’re in luck, here at Overclockers UK we stock are hand selected with the end-user in mind, whether you’re a hardcore audiophile and want full noise cancellation or are simply after a pair of bluetooth headphones to suit your style of listening. For a truly closed off experience we offer closed back variants, with a DAC - for click-free accessibility, open back or in-ear, even lightweight pairs for increased portability.

Construction
Headphones come as circumaural, robust, heavier, forming a seal around the ears; Or, supra-aural which are lighter and smaller and don’t form any sort of seal. In terms of noise cancellation, all headphones offer passive noise reduction, but some headphones are ‘active’ and erase lower-frequency waves by pushing out waves that are 180 degrees out of phase with the incoming waves. Sometimes there will be a microphone inside the ear cup that absorbs external sounds that can’t be blocked otherwise.

Connectivity
There are a variety of ways to connect a new pair of headphones with your PC or laptop. The first thing to consider is whether you prefer a wired or a wireless connection. In-line headphones are a popular choice for good reason: not only is the connection secure and reliable but they are compatible with almost every device including TV’s, consoles, mobile phones, tablets and MP3 players, drawing power directly from the 3.5mm audio jack. Wireless headphones, because they are cable-free, offer greater freedom of movement and hassle-free operation compared to their corded counterparts. The only downside is that wireless headphones require semi-frequent charging and mostly rely on a Bluetooth connection. Both methods offer their own advantages when put to proper use.

Why buy headphones?
Headphones are a very personal product, they aren't really designed to replace your home theatre setup or gaming headset but act as a way to listen privately to high-quality audio. Headphones are the ultimate tool for the solo listener and as the forebearer of earphones, headsets and speakers, there’s bound to be a killer option in any price category, Whether you’re looking for a budget option or something luxurious and professional with all the added features.
