What is 8K resolution?

8K resolution refers to the number of pixels that are contained in a display, in this case 7680 x 4320. It is the successor to much loved 4K resolution, with a pixel denisty four times higher. Much of the focus has been on refining this technology for home media consumption, but several well-known PC monitor manufacturers such as Dell and Viewsonic have released high quality displays that contain 8K panels.

What are the benefits of 8K?

• Pixel Density -An 8K display has the highest possible pixel density that can currently be achieved. An image displayed on one of these monitors will contain a phenomenal amount of detail. • Colour Gamut -An 8K display improves upon the colour reproduction of a 4K display. This is possible thanks to four times as many pixels contained in the same size screen. With these extra pixels a wider range of colours can be on screen at once allowing for an image to contain much more subtle changes of shades and colours.
