- 1925: Founded by S.N. Shure. At the time, he was a one-man-band selling AM radio kits and components.
- 1931: Shure’s first microphone is developed.
- 1933: The Shure Model 42 is born, the first condenser microphone. The wireless Model 99 Modulator followed.
- 1939: The Model 55 Unidyne Microphone is developed. This was the first single element, unidirectional microphone. It went down in history as an icon, with its stylish aesthetic and innovative technology.
- 1942: Became the prime supplier for the Allied Forces.
- 1951: The Unidyne 55 gets an update! The Unidyne 55S is a smaller version of its renowned counterpart.
- 1966: The SM Studio Mike is introduced and quickly adopted as the microphone for rock-and-roll musicians and live performances.
- 1970s: Innovations to the SM series secure them legendary status over the next forty years in radio, TV, recording, and podcasting studios across the world.
- 1985: Shure revolutionised surround sound capabilities with their Home Theater Sound System.

- 1996: A year after S.N. Shure’s death, they offer their first digital signal processing (DSP) product, the DFR11EQ Digital Feedback Reducer.

- 2011: Their first all-digital wireless system is created, the PGX-D.
