NVIDIA GTX 1080 Hardware
The GeForce GTX 1080 is faster than both the GeForce GTX 980 Ti and GeForce GTX TITAN X. This boost is a combination of a new Pascal™ microarchitecture, FinFET manufacturing, and significantly higher clock speeds: 1607MHz base and 1733MHz boost. Added to this, DirectX 12 allows your GPU to run multiple tasks simultaneously, reducing rendering time, latency, and running more frames per second.
Greater data transfer capabilities are made possible thanks to enhanced memory compression technology. Retaining its 256-bit, NVIDIA has increased the overall memory bandwidth to 320GBps. This is because the GeForce GTX 1080 is the first graphics card to be powered by Micron GDDR5X memory—a turbo version of the GDDR5. At speeds of around 10Gbps, the GTX 1080 is 3Gbps faster than the GTX 980, making for a truly unforgettable performance.
Sophisticated VR Software
For VR displays and immersive technologies, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 offers unparalleled performance that equates to 1.5x pixel throughput and 2x the geometry throughput for silky smooth graphics. For non-VR technologies, multi-res shading allows users to focus GPU power on the centre of the screen to match the eye’s natural perspective, resulting in concentrated high-res for increased performance. It also includes GameWorks™ technology for a truly cinematic experience.
Beyond this, NVIDIA VRWorks Audio and VRWorks Touch are taking gameplay to a new level. VRWorks Audio traces the natural pattern of sound, providing the user with a more immersive experience while wearing a headset.
