When you have the world’s most advanced processor architecture for gamers and content creators, the possibilities are endless. Whether you are playing the latest games, designing the next skyscraper, or crunching data, you need a powerful processor that can handle it all—and more. Hands down, the AMD Ryzen™ 5000 Series desktop processors set the bar for gamers and artists alike.

AMD Ryzen™ 5000 Series processors power the next generation of demanding games, providing one of a kind immersive experiences and dominate any multithreaded task like 3D and video rendering2, and software compiling.

With great processing power comes the bleeding-edge technologies to support. All AMD Ryzen™ 5000 Series processors come with a full suite of technologies designed to elevate your PC’s processing power including Precision Boost 2, Precision Boost Overdrive3 and PCIe® 4.0.

Not only are these processors drop-in ready on 500 series motherboards with a simple BIOS update, you can easily tweak and tune your processor with Ryzen™ Master and AMD StoreMI.

BIOS updates supporting the AMD Ryzen™ 5000 Series desktop processors on AMD 400 Series chipsets are expected to be available starting January 2021; exact availability will vary by manufacturer and motherboard model.

As with previous Ryzen generations we recommend 8 Pack memory solutions for Ryzen 5000 series with 3600MHz being the sweet spot in either 16G and 32G Dual channel kit capacities.

Amazing performance

by Stefan star star star star star

Paired this with a crosshair VIII hero and a h100i aio, and while it can get a bit toasty during CPU intensive loads, but I optimised my fans for quiet operation. With my GPU being a 3090 I have yet to have the CPU being the bottleneck.

It's Unbelievable Jeff!!!

Simple process to upgrade from 3900x, I needed a little more juice under the hood for rendering video and this supply's it in bucket fulls at same TDP. Wasn't expecting such a jump in real world preformance. Has to be seen to be enjoyed. Love love love it.... And once again OCUK came good for me for it. Cheers guys.

Effortless

by Christian star star star star star

I don't have currently the rest of my build to support this properly, but despite this my 5950x has taken everything I can throw at it and handled it without breaking a sweat.I am aircooling with Noctua and that pairing has worked in all situations so far. I haven't gone much above 63 degrees, even under load - something which normally lasts for a short time as the multiple threads handle the editing that I have done (Resolve) in a fraction of the time it used to take. I have seen 5.2 ghz on four threads so far when testing using 3D mark (which is blisteringly quick despite being paired currently with single rank memory (upgrade awaited). I have also seen the over temperatureing (to 62 degrees with less than 10% load) that occurs with using epic games launcher but plainly this is something that all Ryzen's experience and epic is a mess in other ways.If you are using just for games this is seriously overkill as no game that I have played uses more than 20-30% of this beasts potential. When you step it up and move into video editing, this processor shows it's true power and value. Recommended.
